About Blackberry Wood

Situated within the South Downs National Park, Blackberry Wood is just 10 miles north of Brighton near the pretty village of Ditchling with its great country pubs and amazing Art and Crafts museum. The area is perfect for walking, cycling and hiking and the South Downs Way is within easy reach. London is only an hour away by train. In the summer months, camping on the Wild Side is available - and reserved for adults who really want to get away from it all. It offers camping pitches in private glades set in woodland, each with a fire pit. For those who prefer more comfort, various glamping options including a converted London double-decker bus and a Wessex helicopter, plus a bright red glamping fire engine. Needless to say, these are immensely popular with families. Couples might prefer a romantic break in the gypsy caravan, tucked away in a corner of the site with its own outdoor kitchen. For more luxury, perhaps the most comfortable option is the Curvy Cabin - a fully insulated log cabin complete with shower room, toilet and kitchen. Or if you're feeling slightly more adventurous, the two incredible treehouses - Higgledy and Piggleby - should tick your boxes. Completely hand crafted and set up among the trees, they both come with shower room, toilet and kitchen, as well as beautiful terraces for al fresco dining.

The country town of Lewes with its Harveys Brewery is 5 miles away, or Brighton with all its temptations is only 10 miles away.

For family days out, Drusillas and the Bluebell Railway are both fantastic - or head for a refreshing walk along the Seven Sisters with their white cliffs.

The area is also establishing itself as the British Champagne region, with several award-winning vineyards such as Ridgeview in the vicinity.
