Boat Lane Caravan And Camping Site is a great base for exploring Nottinghamshire - with Nottingham only a half hour away in the car and Sherwood Forest not too much further. Pull up on a comfy pitch and enjoy the peaceful riverside which is just a 10 minute walk away - with nice strolls and tasty pub lunches to be had. A pair of pretty gypsy caravans offer glamping getaways with a decorated interior and campfire outside.

Good location, nice site, well kept. Clean and good facilities, although the toilet and shower block could do with updating, looking tired.
What more could you want!

Lovely quiet location, plenty of water and electricity points. Well maintained pitches. Ample clean toilets and showers. Clean kitchen with fridge freezer is an added bonus with small children. Lofty makes you so welcome and is always on hand, he really makes the site! Thanks for having us, we will be back!

Much travelled in our elderly motorhome, we found this site wonderfully relaxed and welcoming with no hassle. It is a lovely location and we liked the balance of the managers' attention to customer needs without being intrusive. It was a busy bank holiday weekend, but all seemed calm and cooperative with a good family feel. Our only comment about improvement is that the toilet and shower provision is not enough for such a number of people. Perhaps time for a refurb? It was kept clean and provided with ample toilet roll. We couldn't find a recycling point. Everyone I spoke to had appreciation for the site and it's sense of a more traditional way of camping rather than the increasingly commercialised sites. Excellent value for money. Good for children and dogs!

Very nice setting and open feel for the lovely walks to the river and the village pub. Only one comment was there was no water at the Elsan as the tap didn't work. We will definitely use this site again, cheers.

Just a short walk to the Trent Valley way along the side of the river and a short drive into Newark. Other attractions close by also. The hosts were very helpful and the facilities were spotless, hedgerows all round the site and a barrier with passcode for exit and entry. I would and will be paying another visit.

Warm welcome on arrival. Clean and tidy campsite. Facilities basic but clean. Short walk to the river in one direction, and a lovely pub in the other. Would visit again.

Toilet and shower block very basic but clean. Pot washing area - you have kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge/freezer available to use. Kids play area is just a few rope swings, so make sure you take something to amuse the kids. We took swing ball and badminton. Lovely walk along the River Trent.
Nice spot, clean and useful kitchen area

Its a nice little campsite which was clean and tidy. It has toilet and shower blocks which are rustic but kept clean and stocked. There is also a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and kettle which was helpful. I thought it was good value for money and the location was nice and peaceful.

Very quiet with not a lot to do around. Pub in the village is just fab and shop is 2 mile away. Lovely canal walks to the pub and great if you have a canoe. The guy on the site was great. Toilets and showers could do with an upgrade but lovely quiet place.
Lovely site near River Trent

Had a very enjoyable night at Boat Lane. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were very pleased with our pitch location. Had a lovely walk along the River Trent and drink/food at the Waggon & Horses, both of which are a short walk from the campsite.

stayed 3 nights on this site for bank holiday weekend and really enjoyed it. The people running it was friendly, toilets and showers basic but cleaned regular, water hot, site very well maintained, everyone around was having a great time chilling out, kids playing and no trouble. would definitely recommend. would definitely go back.

we got exactly what we needed this weekend- peace, rest, recuperation. This is a great site with helpful, friendly, relaxed site owners. I loved the fact we could choose our pitch. The facilities are cleaned regularly, hot electric showers, clean toilets, kettle, fridge freezer, microwave and pot washing sinks, free for all to use. it was fully booked, yet quiet. Loved watching the children play freely. Will definitely return.

Great campsite with in a hour from home. Very welcoming and flat pitch. Able to have a camp fire is a big bonus for us. Very friendly and booking for this weekend to take the grandkids!

A great place to get away, in our case, for a night. A good welcome, everything was explained clearly and a simple set up. The location is ideal with a great dog walk in the countryside and by the river Trent.

It was almost empty when I stayed and the weather was beautiful so it was a great stay. I think the toilet/shower facilities may be insufficient at busy times. My only complaint is the showers- nowhere to hang clothes while in the shower and the lights went out while I was showering. I think they were on a movement sensor and no one came into the block.

Nice little site with no frills, there was no limit on how long we could stay, even on a bank holiday. The site managers were very friendly and it is well managed (lost one star for running out of toilet paper one morning!) with hot showers and plenty of water points. No playground but plenty of room for the kids to run around and within walking distance to the village with a lovely pub. There are also lots of things to visit within a 30 min drive. Only thing with young children is that 'quiet time' starts at midnight! But during our stay, guests were respectful and it was pretty quiet after 9.30pm. I guess it could be different another time. Will definitely come back.
Lovely site, very peaceful and a great location for exploring
