About Birchwood Camping
An eco-friendly, off-grid campsite nestled in the Herefordshire countryside set between the towns of Leominster, Bromyard and Tenbury Wells. Enjoy a peaceful back to basics camping experience surrounded by nature, spot Muntjac deer from your pitch or listen to the soothing sounds of owls as you fall asleep. For camping, pitches are split between the meadow and the quarry, each without electric and mown into the long grass, surrounded by ancient hedgerows and woodland. The meadow pitches are set on a slightly sloping five acre field, the spacious pitches make it an ideal spot for families. Three of these pitches are for tents and two for campervans. A gate at the bottom of the meadow leads you to the quarry pitches, for tents only, set in a small area of 1.5 acres. These pitches are more secluded, surrounded by woodland with a small stream running alongside, an ideal spot for wild swimming! Pitches are set next to an old steam railway embankment and you can still see remnants of the old quarry face too! The bell tent sleeps up to four with a comfy king-sized bed and two futon mattresses for children. Bedding is provided for the king-sized bed, but for the futons you will need to bring sleeping bags. Set in the meadow the bell tent is raised on decking with seating, fire pit and BBQ for nights in the open. There are plenty of footpaths to take straight from the site to explore more of the Herefordshire countryside. Or head to Leominster, Bromyard or Tenbury Wells for independent boutique shops and cafes and a day of mooching. Slightly further afield are the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a great day out for outdoors lovers! Fire pits are provided for each pitch, guests can also hire a mini pizza oven to go over the griddle. Sorry, dogs are not allowed on this site due to the surrounding livestock. At least one guest must be a member of the Greener Camping Club to stay at this site, the £12 membership fee can be added on when booking. This grants you access to over 160 eco friendly camping and glamping sites across England and Wales.
