Each a five minute walk from your car, you will feel like you are miles from anywhere, despite actually being less than two miles from Bideford, Westward Ho! and Appledore. About Owl Valley Glamping
Set in its own valley with a pretty slate-bedded stream running alongside, Owl Valley is just five to ten minutes from Bideford, Westward Ho!, Appledore and the rest of the glorious North Devon coast. Home to a variety of cosy glamping accommodation from a bell tent to cabins and even a geodome. The Barn Owl Cabin is the perfect option for up to four people. The Tawny Cabin sleeps five across a king sized bed, two single futons and a small sofa bed. For larger groups the Long Eared Geodome sleeps six. Each on a platform and lit with solar fairy lights, equipped with beds, pillows, bedding (bedding for the single beds in the bell tent is not provided), blankets, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Enjoy your own private bathroom facilities with composting toilets. For ultimate luxury the Barn Owl and Tawny cabin and the Long Eared geodome all have their own private wood fired hot tub! Owl Valley was once run as a private nature reserve, and staff do their best to keep the valley natural and a good place for wildlife and people to stay. If you want a complete break from the stresses of today's life then this is the place to come. There is no WiFi, no phone signal (mostly), and no electricity. Just lots of outdoor fun! Sorry, no pets are permitted on site.
The cabins are available all year round. The geodome is available between March and October.

Things to do on site and in the Bideford area
Much of what there is to do on site revolves around nature: pond dipping, bird and butterfly watching (cool dragonflies too!) and more. The nature box has information fishing nets and jars - for your catch! The site's porch overlooking a stream is a good place to sit and read or watch the wildlife go by.
There is also Steve's Shack should the Great British weather let you down, with a pool table, darts board, chess table, a selection of board games and books. There is also a communal kitchen area and pizza oven.
Because this is an off-grid site, it is dark at night and a torch is a must. As ever in this part of the country, the stars on a clear night are amazing so stargazing is an absolute thrill.
Away from the site, there is so much to do in this part of Devon:
- Surfing at Westward Ho!, Bude and Croyde, along with many other water sports
- The Big Sheep Bideford (all weather family attraction)
- Trips to Lundy island from Bideford
- The Tarka Trail - one of the country's longest traffic free walking and cycling paths
- Hartland Abbey and Gardens
- Cobbaton Combat Collection
- Atlantic Village shopping outlet
- Ultimate Adventure Centre, Bideford
- Quince Honey Farm, South Molton
Needless to say, there are many lovely beaches in the area, including Westward Ho! Croyde, Woolacombe and Bude.
