Would definitely return to this ideally located, peaceful but family friendly site. Good size pitches with 360 views. Toilets and showers are great. Great base for exploring the peaks. Just a 15 minute stroll to the local, dog friendly pub!

Lovely, quiet site with superb facilities. Everything was immaculate, the welcome was warm and friendly, and the pub food was beautiful - just far enough away for the meal to settle on the walk back. We would go again.

Clean facilities, good level pitches, great hosts and a nice on-site shop. Peaceful. Play area for little ones and Shetland Ponies for kids and parents to fawn over. We struck lucky weather wise and enjoyed a great stay. Aurora borealis visible one night! We missed it, but lots saw it! Easy 20 minute walk over fields to the Manifold Inn, with good food, lots of drinks choice and dog friendly. Take a torch if you walk there at night. More difficult 45 minute walk to Hartington over boggy fields and along a section of road, but plenty of hostelries there. Good touring base for Buxton, Tissington, only a short drive away. Very popular site, books up quickly.

Lovely site, beautiful views, toilets immaculate, staff friendly. Definitely a lovely site, but it's one for people who just want peace and quiet, probably not for those with older children. Only one problem - we were on a super pitch and were promised a grey waste hose on arrival which we didn't get, so water spilled out onto grass, as advised by staff. However, this did create a small swimming pool by the end of the week.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Regarding the grey waste hose, you possibly misunderstood - all our pitches have a grey waste drain at the rear - you'd need to bring your own hose to drain into it. We don't supply these. Alternatively for motorhomes we have a drive-over disposal point. For caravans, most people use wastemasters which can then be tipped into the drain at the rear. I'm not sure who advised you to drain onto the pitch as this is not proper practice - it would be great if you could let us know. Thank you, Amy.

A great little site. We stayed in early Jan 2024 and the weather was freezing, but the ablution block was warm and clean (no mean feat with all the recent rain). We both used the showers in the morning and had plenty of warm water. An excellent base for hiking. The nearest pub (the Manifold Inn) is also worth a visit, the steak & ale pie was cracking.

We stayed here for the weekend in our VW campervan. It was excellent. The facilities were great and warm and the clean showers were hot. There was a kitchenette area as well. The views are stunning. We went to the local pub, The Manifold, which was also great and only a 10 minute walk away. Hartington is also beautiful, I would highly recommend.

A lovely, quiet and rural hideaway with beautiful views from our pitch. Spotlessly clean site and facilities. Site staff were really friendly and on hand for anything. Free Wi-Fi was a bonus but unfortunately it was very sporadic for our stay and only worked about 20% of the time. For some though this would be a bonus! We did feel that some landscaping or bushes around the pitches would have added a bit of warmth and character. Overall, a lovely getaway.

It was our first time ever camping, on my husbands 40th birthday to test out his newly converted campervan and awning. They helped us set up the awning, even giving us some stone pegs for free as we came completely unprepared! The shower block was warm and very clean and that, the shop and the kitchen area had everything we needed. Lovely little town a short walk away, as well as a couple of nice pubs. The views from the site were wonderful as well as both the sunset and sunrise. Thank you for a wonderful first time camping! We'll definitely be back (and fully prepared next time! 🤣)
