About Jurassic Camp

Situated on a rural farm, this tranquil site is far from the hustle and bustle, away from main roads, yet within easy reach to Dorset's stunning coastline, walks along the South West Coast Path, as well as family fun at Monkey World. The team on the farm here provide a warm welcome to campers, with a range of grass pitches catering to tents and trailer tents. There are also pitches designed to suit groups. Whilst on the farm you're sure to meet a variety of the animals onsite including Apollo the alpaca, sheep and chickens. Dogs are welcome here and must be kept on a lead. There are specific areas for large groups where noise is permitted up to a certain time, then you are asked to lower the volume to only be heard within your group. There is also a family camping for family groups especially those with children. Or for some peace, there is a quiet camping area, this does not mean it will be silent as there are other campers in adjacent fields. The site aims to not have noise coming from within this area, so while there may be noise on site, it shouldn't be right next to you.

Jurassic Camp is open for the first two weeks of July and then from 17th July to 8th September.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

The campsite was as described. The owner was helpful and polite. We rang him when we arrived and he greeted us within minutes. The farm animals are a lovely addition. The alloys converted to fire pits dotted around are a great touch and kept us warm. The facilities are good, toilets, showers, washing sink area, communal fridge. We only used the toilets so I could rate higher than I have. Cleanliness was as expected for many people camping on a farm site. It was good considering the location. Would recommend and stay again.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

I'd highly recommend here if you want simple clean site. its a 3 field site situated on a farm with water points in all the fields, showering facilities and toilets. For our first time there, I can't fault the service, the site manager and owner was very helpful and accommodating. didn't feel any pressure in setting up or packing down. not far from local towns but far enough way to feel remote but not isolated.

Fabulous stay!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Groups)Aug 2024

We loved this place. We came with friends and stayed over the August bank holiday. Julian was an excellent host, we adored Apollo (the alpaca) and all the animals. Would definitely come again. Thanks Julian!
