Bell Tent - Bell TentsAug 2024

The site itself was lovely, I booked a bell tent as well as two grass pitches as I didn't know about there being multiple tents allowed per pitch. The person at check in was very nice, and the surrounding area has some nice long walks too. Overall, I recommend, the only issue is that public transport doesn't come close to the site, so if you don't have a car with you, it'll be a decently long walk to get to/from the site.

Loved it!

Bell Tent - Bell TentsAug 2024

The location is lovely, just outside Weymouth, far away enough to be in nature but close enough for convenience. The bell tent was good value for money but I feel that charging £5 per car per night is a little unreasonable given there are no other transport links. The logs were expensive compared to other sites we have been to and the food quite pricey. The facilities were basic but okay. Don't let the compost loos put you off. The showers were lovely with shampoo provided. The washing up facilities are basically 2 metal troughs, which did the job but it was unfortunate that food congregated at one end and this was not cleaned out. There was not a freezer for ice packs but as this is a pop up site, that didn't surprise us, but would need consideration for a longer stay. The live music was very good and the pop up bar had a festival feel which made the weekend more of an experience.

Lovely location but poor value for money

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2024

When I booked this, I read a number of reviews which all talked about the great service, staff, food tent and live music. The advert also said there was a café, so when we arrived to find a large field with a shed for reception, long drop toilets and portable shower cubicles, we actually wondered if we were in the right place. We had deliberately avoided booking the cheaper camping options due to lack of facilities. The man at the shed didn't check our reservation and just pointed us in the direction of the pitches with no other information. There was no clearly marked drinking water provision and nobody to ask when I went back to the shed, so I had to ring the number on the door to find this. The showers were clean but draughty and lukewarm water, so on anything other than a glorious summer day (which thankfully it was) this would have been a let-down. The washing up facilities were open air with water just slopping into the field so again, in anything but perfect weather would have been unpleasant. The location was beautiful although very exposed and windy. Having just come from a campsite charging the same amount which had fantastic facilities including sheltered pitches, charging points for electrical items, a café, shop and indoor washing and toilet facilities, this was a big let down and certainly did not feel like value for money.
