About Hare and Hounds Campsite

Formerly a pub, the Hare and Hounds is set in idyllic countryside situated just two miles outside historic Rye. It features two fields, totalling around 2.5 acres - so there is plenty of room. The pluses here are a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with clean facilities and the opportunity to sit by a campfire! Pitches are suitable for tents, campervans and motorhomes (up to 6m), with 12 electric hook-ups for guests. Fire braziers are available to hire if you need them. If you're going glam, book a furnished bell tent with all those car-boot-filling bits and bobs provided. These come furnished with futons to sleep four, seating, lantern lighting, and cooking equipment, with a gas cooker included. Outside is your BBQ and picnic bench. For couples, the shepherd's hut is perfect, and it includes ensuite facilities, a double bed and a cosy wood burner. Sorry, the site cannot accommodate groups of more than two families/ pitches together. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on their leads during your stay.

The site is open from 25th April to 16th September, bell tents are available from 5th July to 1st September.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

We really enjoyed our time at the campsite which was perfectly located and very clean and organised. We were welcomed on arrival with an explanation of the site and where we could choose to pitch. The site was clean and very organised. As it was near the end of the season, it was fairly quiet, so we had the pick of the electric hook ups. The facilities weren't far away and the washing up area was immaculately clean, as were the showers/toilets. On our first night, we had a quick 5 minute walk to the Oak, the nearest pub, which was great. The next day we had a beautiful 50 minute walk through fields into Rye. A very enjoyable weekend, we couldn't have asked for a better campsite and I'm sure we will return again in the future.

Peaceful site for a break
