I couldn't find a motorhome grey waste drain point and the pitch was a bit muddy. What do you expect camping in February I hear you say. We had a great trip all told, Cheddar Gorge and the swimming pool were great. Thanks.

First night staying in our VW van and probably the worst weather ever, very windy, rain (amber weather warning) and hailstones. Wanted to go somewhere not too far from home to experience the VW camper with friends. Great location, facilities excellent, clean, nice clubhouse, which served food from 5-7pm and a New Year's Eve disco. Great music but we thought it was a little too loud.

The site was spotless and the staff from reception to the clubhouse/bar were brilliant. Really helpful, friendly and very welcoming, we would definitely recommend a stay here. I had fish and chips in the restaurant and the fish was to die for. It was the best fish I've ever had, just perfect.

My eight year old and I absolutely adored our stay, and I've had to promise him we will come back for his Chrimbirthday treat next year.

We used this site as a stopover to help our nephew move house the following day. It had everything we needed.

Great site, we found the site on the net as we were working back up the country. Glad we did, great site. Staff friendly and helpful. The site is clean and tidy, with good facilities. Shop, swimming pool and bar. Nice food at the bar. Would use again.

Pleasant staff on reception, site clean and tidy and seemed very popular this time of year in December. Lovely views and close to village.

Lovely little site on the edge of the Mendip Hills, the City of Wells one way and Cheddar the other way. Stayed here the weekend just gone, easy check in and friendly staff. The bar and restaurant on site was great with good food and a good selection of drinks. The only problem I had was the hard standing pitch I booked was very boggy and muddy, could do with more chippings or even a tarmac surface. Will definitely be returning next year.

This site was in a perfect location for Wells, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge. The facilities were good, especially the swimming pool. The staff were all really lovely and helpful, making this a really good weekend break. Also there was good value for money food in the site restaurant.

The site is great and the staff very welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, although there was no entertainment when we were there, but not surprising for November. The only issue we had was getting off the pitch as it rained heavily overnight and as a result, my blue van is now brown and we only just made it off the grass/mud. Could do with making some pitches made of gravel for vehicles to camp on. Other than that, our stay was great and would definitely stay there again in the future.
Friendly staff but not the best pitch

Found the staff very friendly and the pool for the kids was a lovely touch. Although we didn't eat or drink in the lodge, we did look in and it seemed very nice and clean. Sadly the pitch was the biggest let down. I know the weather wasn't great but our pitch seemed to be holding water so it was like a bog. When we asked if we could be moved, we were told they were fully booked but yet no one came to either pitch beside us that were in much better condition.
Really nice, small and friendly site

Smashing place to stay with it's onsite bar/restaurant. Even put on bingo some nights for a bit of fun. Very clean and friendly stop. There is a field out the gate (Behind Lodge 3) and up the road, a little then on the right, for your doggo to have a run free. No farm animals in this field. Pleasant and would definitely return.

We stayed here to take advantage of the glorious weather forecast and had nearly an entire field to ourselves. The view from Tor View field was spectacular and the sunset alone was worth the trip. The pools were great for cooling off in and we really appreciated the warmer baby pool to switch in and out of from the larger pool. The staff we met were all very friendly and helpful. The site had a friendly, homely vibe and we loved it, until night time. The first night, I was woken in the early hours by a chorus of dogs barking. This went on for hours. Sounded like backstage at Crufts. The following night, the barking started much earlier and basically lasted all night. I wore headphones to drown out the noise but it was very hard to. Such a shame, as otherwise the site was perfect.

This site is great for families with young children. The swimming pool was smaller than expected and can get very busy at times but a real bonus.

Lovely place to stay. Beautiful surrounding views, very friendly staff and clean and tidy amenities. My only critique is that the swimming pool is not staffed so there were kids jumping all over the place. Other than that, can't wait to come again soon. We had a lovely stay with very friendly and helpful staff. Site has plenty to offer nearby, enjoyed by all of us.

Friendly welcome on arrival, very very clean facilities with everything you need, including the use of a freezer to re-freeze your freezer pack if needed. Shop is well stocked, the food is nice and the bar is very well priced. All in all, I would come back.
Friendly helpful staff, clean facilities

Nice park for families. We stayed in a tent and the amenities were good. Entertainment on an evening, but not enough tables or seats for everyone. Swimming pool was nice, basic. Food in the pub was ok. Clean toilets, showers etc, which is nice. Great location.
Very nice and clean campsite

Very nice and clean campsite. Staff helpful and nice, main shower and toilet block was clean. The only downfall was the pegs were really hard to get into the ground due to all the stones.
Perfect for families

We stayed at Bucklegrove for 2 nights and it was fantastic. Camp site is just stunning - you are surrounded by stunning scenery and greenery! Checking in was easy - given our pitch, a map, explained where the facilities are, times for things, etc. Easy peasy! We pitched up - our children (9 and 6) were able to run off to the play area to make their weekend camping friends whilst we sorted out all our stuff. Location - We chose to stay at Bucklegrove because of the location to Cheddar Gorge - this was our BIG day out on day 2. And what a day out it was! Make sure to pack plenty of food, drink and wear your decent walking shoes! Not recommended for children under 6 - it really is a biiiiiig trek! Cleanliness - Clean facilities, no complaints here at all! Facilities - Small pool (which we didn't use) - ideal for a quick play. Play area, our boys loved this. It is on the smaller side but kids being kids, they will make the most out of anything. The Lodge was absolutely lovely - great, friendly staff, nice selection of food and drink. On the whole, we enjoyed it so much that we tried to stay for a 3rd night, but our pitch was being used the next day.
Friendly site

Really nice, friendly site. Both us and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Great views, lovely, friendly staff who were super helpful. l unfortunately was let down by the constant barking day and night from the local rescue centre.
Great location, a little tired but overall a good stay!

A great location about 15 minutes from Cheddar (as you turn right out of the campsite) local pub serving good food as you turn left out of the camp site. Great fruit and veg stalls along the road highly recommend stopping for some strawberries and potatoes! The campsite is fairly compact with a shop, pub serving food and a swimming pool. The pool was a little over crowded and it felt a little odd to use the same toilets to change in as the bar customers use! We stayed in Tor View - pitch up in a patch of your choice, no dogs allowed. However, we were next to a large family that didn't seem to have much respect for the quieter hours - playing music and talking loudly after hours - this was a little anti-social and inconsiderate. The showers and toilets although a little tired looking are clean enough and not far from the camp areas. Overall, a great base for exploring the local area.
