Lovely stay, weather was on our side which helped. Lady who cleans shower/toilets is a gem. I imagine in high season, demand for showers will be a pain as there's only 2 in men's and same in women's, but it was quiet when we were there. A slight issue for us with water as not able to fill up our motorhome on site - another family used a watering can to top up. We had so much with us but no way to collect any more on site, so used shower block and washing up facilities instead of the motorhome's. Beach was stunning and some great walks by the beach, on the pathway running between Skegness and up to the observatory. It was really peaceful, apart from dogs barking early Saturday morning and will return. But there are facilities, pubs, amusements, fish and chips and bargain shops selling all sorts about a 10 min walk away. Loved it.
Excellent, quiet campsite

Just had two nights here and it was fabulous. It was clean, quiet and in a great location, just a short walk to the beach over the dunes. There was plenty of food etc near by, I will happily go back again when we are travelling through..

Kids loved it. Right next to the beach, 5 min walk to main street, which is full of arcades, chippy, convenience store and pubs etc. Would definitely go back.

Me and my partner had a fantastic long weekend. Plenty of space and in a nice bit of Chapel St Leonards, if you prefer it not so busy, and all main attractions within walking distance. Showers great and sinks with hot water for cleaning. People very polite and respectful, and with that, we will be back next year. Thank you for our stay and extra afternoon on Sunday!
A friendly campsite with very easy access to the sandy beach

This campsite is suitable for families, is not too big and has a toilet and shower block near to the caravans for use with a fob you can get on deposit. Dogs are allowed (the ones we saw there were all well-behaved) and there is a nice feature of a fenced-off lake with ducks and ducklings, used for fishing. The only shop is the big fishing shop (so no good if you need groceries) but the guy there (owner of campsite too?) is really friendly and helpful, will show you where to pitch and was very accommodating when our van broke down and we needed longer to check out. The cleaner was friendly too and was cleaning at the toilet block several times each day, although it did quickly get mucky from lots of use by campers, understandably. A sign on the toilet block would be helpful - as first time visitors we weren't sure whether it was the right building. Also, could there be an somewhere to wash off sandy costumes and feet as we know we couldn't go into the toilet blocks sandy. Our teens and younger children all loved being able to get straight to a sandy beach with pretty shells and lots of waves. Be aware that the seabed drops steeply, so our little ones were out of their depth within a metre or two of entering the water. Great for body boards though. Thanks for a great stay!

We have just left this site after 2 nights which couldn't have been worse. Our pitch was literally on the edge of the stony road into the tent field and on the edge of the small car park which was littered with broken glass. The shower and toilet facilities are the worst we have ever experienced. Toilets with no lids and dirty when we arrived. Tiny sinks with no hand drying facilities or any sides to put a toiletry bag. Two showers which were appalling. A press button control which only allowed the water to stay on for seconds. In one shower, a circular metal drain in the floor was broken in half - I was honestly terrified my young daughter's foot would slip through this. There is nowhere to put toiletries, towel or clothes. The only drinking water points are in the caravan field, so campers have to walk around to this field for both the toilet block and fresh water. The Elsan point was literally an uncovered hole in the ground surrounded by a small wooden frame with no flushing; this was next to the jerrycan fill point. The site was dirty, littered with rubbish, old socks and drink bottles. The beach is only a short walk away and our children were so excited to go. The walkway up to the beach was filthy - dog mess, beer bottles, cans, clothing and nappies. The beach itself was no better. Our daughter fished out plastic bags from the sea and we cleared dog mess, abandoned socks and other rubbish before we were able to sit and try to enjoy the afternoon. Back at our tent, things were no better. The language and noise from a group of young lads set the tone. A family group opposite our tent was incredibly noisy until almost midnight, leaving our 4 under 9s unable to sleep and extremely tired the next day. The owner did speak to them the next day and they were quiet the next night. Another tent opposite ours had a family with two young children, and a parent with the foulest mouth we've ever heard. I left with our children after two nights with my husband following the next day after packing up. If I could have selected zero stars I would have.
Site's response
Hi, I am so sorry this was not for you, I think some of what you said is unfair. The rubbish is emitted daily, the toilets are given a full clean 3 times a day and checked. The showers are safe, and there are at least 12 sinks in the toilets. I can't help rubbish on paths and the beach, which is nothing to do with me. If we have a complaint about noise, I always go and tell the people, and in the past I have asked people to leave. I also most nights come back and check the site for noise when we are full. I litter-pick the site daily and try and make sure people have a nice stay. Sorry that you did not.

Lovely campsite, friendly staff and very peaceful. Short walk to attraction. Could do with some more toilets in camping field, and maybe a small shop that sells milk and bread ect the basic would definitely stay again.

Absolutely friendly and helpful staff. Everything was amazing, close distance to the beach. The only minus is not having any cafe in the side.

Was okay, disappointed that the only toilets were on the other side near the caravans. Also, no tap for water where you were camping and had to walk to the caravan park. Would have been nice for a local shop or café on site. Was nice and close to the beach.

Lovely little campsite, close to the beach and the sea, perfect for families looking for a beach holiday on a surprisingly quiet beach. Campsite basic but has toilet and shower area which is kept clean. Enjoyed a 3 night getaway with the grandchildren who had a fantastic few days. Would recommend the campsite.

Great location, nice campsite, friendly and helpful staff. Downsides were the distance of the toilets and showers from those camping in tents, quite a trek especially if you need to go during the night. There are only 2 showers, which were a bit grubby, and the water only stays on for 5 seconds at a time. Nowhere to dry your hands after using the toilets. There is a huge fishing shop but it would be great if it also stocked drinks, snacks etc. Overall, a nice stay and we would definitely return.

Me and my family took a camping trip for the weekend, and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Nice pitch sizes and really close to the beach. Only a 20-minute walk to Fantasy Island theme park too which was a great day out for our son. Will definitely be returning again. Would highly recommend.
First time there.

Me and my family have just spent three nights at Lakeland and really enjoyed it. If you love fishing, its a perfect place for you, with a great fishing tackle shop there. It's a great base camp and the beach is minutes away and you can either walk to Ingoldmells or drive. It's a fair walk to Chapel/Trunch Lane if you have walking disabilities along a long drive, I have walking difficulties, so five/ten mins in the car. The toilets/shower block is only a few mins walk and was cleaned at least twice a day.
Nice, clean site

Booked this site due to the location which was close to the beach. Friendly approachable staff. Plenty of space for our large tent and car. Toilet, shower and washing up facilities kept very clean. The only thing against this site is the facilities block was a long way from the camping field. Maybe a cut through the bank to the toilet block would be better thank walking all the way around especially at night when it is dark. That said, the site is well lit when dark. All in all a very enjoyable stay 🙂
Good site, clean facilities, close to lovely beach (walking distance)

We were meant to be having two grandchildren with us but, sadly, family circumstances meant they weren’t able to join us. My husband and I enjoyed lots of time chilling out (we had a lovely view of one of the fishing lakes), doing a jigsaw and reading. The only thing that spoiled our stay (not massively, and not the fault of the site management) was the behaviour of some of the other campers. There were quite a few late evenings, when we had gone to bed earlyish (10:30 to 11:00) but couldn’t sleep because of loud music and very loud conversations. We felt it was rather antisocial - and not what we expect from other campers. We would highly recommend this site though.
