I booked a last minute trip with my daughter, our dog and our campervan to this campsite and was very pleased with my choice. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed; close enough to the beach, very reasonably priced, not crowded and with the luxury of being able to choose where you park, rather than being told where you have to pitch! There is a nice wooded area to take the dog for a walk directly from the campsite, which was lovely and very convenient. Unfortunately, the starter motor on the campervan decided to pack in on the morning we were leaving and the owner went over and above in his attempts to try and help us out (as originally we thought it was a flat battery) and I was very grateful for his calm assistance in what was a disappointing end to our stay. We will be returning once the van is back up and running!

Friendly and helpful welcome. Facilities clean. Decent hot showers for a pop up campsite. Excellent fire pits for hire and wood to buy. A couple more showers would be good. Nothing to do with campsite but a shame the local pub was permanently closed. Accessible forest for walks is really beautiful and peaceful, we saw deer and an owl. Kids loved the tyre swing. The location is excellent for amazing beaches, the Tank Museum and Monkey World if you have kids. Mixed campers, young groups, families, couples, bikers (they were loud when they departed at 6am!). Not bothered by loud music, there was music you could hear from other campers, but not too loud. It was a relaxed vibe. My 14yr old wants to return, so it must be good!

Nice location, relaxing site with a nice atmosphere in the day. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Some of the cars were getting stuck in the mud but were pulled out quickly by the host. Would definitely stay again.

A very friendly and relaxed place to stay. We only stayed for one night so didn't venture far. They even had a tractor on hand to pull cars and vans out of the mud, which was really appreciated given the weather at the time!
Fantastic friendly welcoming

What an absolute gem of a site located next to a huge forest, ideal for walking the dog. Top notch facilities for wild camping, pitch where you like on this huge site, enabling you to find a quiet space or be closer to others. No electric link but lovely showers, toilets and washing up facilities. Fire pit hire, logs and kindling for sale, and very reasonable. Hosts were excellent, extremely welcoming and happy to advise on places to visit. A very special place with great vibes. Will definitely visit again.

The site is perfectly located for a number of tourist attractions and is reasonably close to the town centre. There are a couple of smaller shops within a mile or so of the site and a pub literally next door, but you definitely need your own transport. The site is basic but has everything you need. The facilities are well maintained and the staff are exceptionally helpful and attentive.

We enjoyed the almost level pitch next to extensive woodland, perfect to walk the dog. We hired a firepit with wood, and it was a joy to sit out in the evening watching all the twinkling lights. A lot of families came and the children ran around having a great time until well after dark. There was a wedding party in a marquee so we had the added bonus of listening to the Cèilidh band. But noise ended before eleven, so it was lovely and peaceful all night. The facilities are a bit of trek, but sinks and showers with hot water and chemical toilets on site were quite sufficient. Bring a torch, the chemical toilets have no lighting. Also the nearest pub doesn't do food, so be prepared to travel to Wool for that. The owner stays on site and is very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely lovely campsite and very welcoming owners! Could do with an on site little shop or something. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Primrose Fields is in that sweet spot, a relaxed and carefree site that's like wild camping, but also has decent facilities. You can pitch wherever you like and be with your friends. The site was busy when we were there because it was the August bank holiday but everything was still very chill and there was plenty of space. It's a beautiful spot with big skies - we spent all day cloud watching and at night the lack of light pollution meant the stars and the Milky Way were amazing. The showers look very rustic, but there's loads of hot water and they were actually excellent. I'd definitely camp here again.

Clean toilets and kept at all times. Lovely kind lady that runs it and a man that helps out. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a great stay at Primrose. Really nice showers and washing up facilities. Campground backs onto a wooded area with trails that were fun to explore. Pub at the door with a great garden area and playground for kids. Very generous amount of wood provided with the fire pit. All in all, we had a great stay.

Brilliant. Perfect for us. They even lent us a tin opener as we'd forgotten ours! We could have had a fire pit, but was so exhausted with travel, we just went to bed. Definitely will next time. Great place, would stay again.

A simple, well managed and peaceful site with loads of space, simple clean facilities and super helpful and friendly site owners. My older boys and I had a fun few days using the site as a base to explore from and relaxing on site in the evenings around a campfire.
Everything you need, lovely spacious site!

Lovely relaxed campsite with decent facilities. We had a warm welcome to the site by the staff there who were very informative. We arrived later than 9pm due to van issues and phoned to let the site know - The staff had no problem with us arriving late at all. The site is a free for all, pick where you want to camp, kind of site. Plenty of space and option for group camping. The facilities were basic but everything you would need. Please be aware before booking that the toilets are portable toilets, we knew this beforehand and are not bothered, but I know some people weren't expecting them. The toilets were emptied everyday of our 3 day stay. The toilets were generally clean and well kept. There isn't that many toilets per person if the site is busy, but we only had to queue twice. No lights in toilets - Quite good though as there was no bugs inside! Remember to bring a good torch! The showers, sinks and washing up area was at the entrance to the campsite and generally set aside from everything else, but only a small walk away! There was 3 showers, each had their own changing area with lots of space to put your things. The showers themselves were portable but were very spacious and the water was lovely and warm and had good pressure. We didn't have to queue for the showers but we went about 5pm and after we showered there was a queue of 4 people. I would suggest showering during the day rather than the evening/morning, as it got quite busy. There was a set of 6 sinks, I believe, where you could go to wash/brush teeth etc. We didn't use these ourselves but they looked clean and wasn't busy. The washing up area had 4 sinks with drying areas. The water pressure did depend on the others there at the time, but after a little wait, it would work. Enough space to wash up and had warm water. Once again, we didn't have to queue for these either! The location was great and one of the main reasons we picked the site. About a 15 minute drive from Durdle Door. Lots of places to visit nearby as well. Please note there wasn't many supermarkets nearby and we drove quite a while for a smaller Tesco, but it was on the way back from somewhere so didn't bother us. The site was generally very relaxed, no problems with our van being let on the site. We have partly converted our van into a campervan, but from the exterior it still looks like a normal van. The people at the site were overall respectful of the rules, music to be turned off at 9, but you can stay up later. A couple groups had very loud music but this was turned off around 9. Some groups did stay up chatting past midnight though but it didn't really bother us. Seemed like a great site for kids with a woods at the site, which included a swing or two. Overall we would choose to go here again if we were visiting the area. The price was decent (especially for a bank holiday) and the site had everything you would need on a campsite. We would recommend this site for a chilled, relaxed, country stay.

A basic stay campsite, but very well looked after by the owners. Lovely hot water showers and regularly cleaned and serviced toilets. A large flat camping area with local forest walks only a couple of miles from Wareham for shopping. Central for many other areas and attractions. Recommended.

A lovely place - does what it says on the tin. Pitch anywhere and drive vehicles on field (within reason). Campfire kit highly recommended. Nice showers and toilets.

Christina was the most friendly, approachable and informative host. I glamped in my suv on a futon mattress and had THE most peaceful 9 hour sleep, which for me is remarkable. Think I was the only solo camper and the nearby kids found my novel sleeping quarters laughable in comparison to their palatial tents, that said it was a delightful sunset and sunrise in the perfect setting for my yomps around Swanage, Old Harry Rocks, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, reliving my childhood holiday experiences. I shall of course return in 2024 (if not before) and for value and location shall chose Primrose Fields

First time camping with our own tent rather than glamping. This campsite was perfectly located about 10 mins from quite a few local attractions and landmarks. Lovely and quiet, family-friendly with plenty of space for them to run and a forest for them to explore. Brilliant facilities, all very clean and well maintained. The hosts are so lovely and really helpful. Will definitely come again.
