About Stonechat Meadow
This is a family-run campsite, ideal for those with an interest in wild birds and the beautiful Devonshire countryside. The site boasts absolute convenience for exploring Devon. It is located between the two untamed, windswept wilds of Dartmoor and Exmoor. The gorgeous countryside has plenty of space to adventure and marvel. With many clear open roads around, it's great for motorcyclists who will be on the Devon coast in no time. Stonechat is a haven for the keen birdwatcher, with a resident kestrel and resident swallows, merlins, skylarks and bullfinches along with sightings of stonechats, barn owls and tawny owls, to mention a few. As well as the birdlife, there are deer, foxes and rabbits to be seen. There is a thriving butterfly population in the summer, together with a small pond full of amphibians. The location of the campsite offers no city light pollution which makes for a beautiful night sky on clear nights. It's a perfect setup for astrology or to relax with a romantic evening of stargazing. The general ambiance of the campsite allows for a relaxed, stress free environment with pollution levels at a ground zero. Mobile phone service is minimal here, which allows you to break away from the real world.
