A lovely find and reluctant to say how good it is, as it is only small but perfect for touring around, cycling to Ashbourne and walking at Carsington Water. We will be back, if it isn’t already all booked up!!

Lovely small site, great for dogs which was what we wanted. Very quiet and after the warm welcome you're left alone to relax. Great stop for a few days.

Poplars is a small and therefore very quiet, almost private, farm site. You get what's described on the website. We chose the site just because we have a dog that goes with us whether on short or long holidays, and Poplars was an excellent choice. Sarah and the spaniels were very welcoming and friendly, making sure that we settled down well. We've been into camping pods lately due to downgrading into a small car (now not able to bring all our camping gear) and Poplars is the first site we've used where each pod has an allocated "private" toilet and shower! This should now be the standard for all small campsites! As described on its website, Poplars is also surrounded by beautiful scenery being situated on the edge of the Peak District. The scenery is priceless, especially just before sunrise. Will definitely be back a bit longer next time. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed staying at this farm. It was our first time glamping and we had everything we needed for our short stay. Nice and clean site with well placed bathroom facilities. It's conveniently close to Ashbourne, Carsington Water Park, and Dovedale. Will definitely return.

This was a lovely little site with very good and very clean facilities. The shower was the best I have ever experienced on a campsite, lovely and clean and spacious with unlimited hot water and plenty of hanging space. Great location to visit different areas of the Peak District and I can recommend the pub just down the road, The Black Horse, for excellent food in cosy surroundings.

Thank you very much for your visit and review. You seemed to cope very well in the dreadful weather off the back of storm Franklin. Hope to see you again.

2 night stay with a lovely welcome from owners and all the facilities pointed out. Good hardstanding pitches with gorgeous views. Nearest neighbours are a little flock of hens, very entertaining to watch. Field had mown paths around and made for a good scenic dog walk. The road alongside was quite busy and traffic could be heard, however very quiet overnight and no noise or disturbance. The shower and toilet facilities were spotless and a very good hot shower. I was the only van there but I could see that when busy a second shower and added toilets could be useful. I really enjoyed my stay, great for touring and visiting local attractions. Would definitely return.
Site's response
Thanks for your visit, Ros, with your lovely dog. Hope to see you again; even in Summer, we just have 5 vans and 3 or 4 tents so seldom more than 16 or so people. The pods have their own private facilities so it seems to work well. Thank you taking the time to leave a review. Good luck in your travels!

We stayed here a couple of years ago, and bar the weather, it hasn't changed a bit. We were greeted with a lovely smile and all the help and info we needed. The toilets and (free) shower were spotless and warm. A few good pubs nearby and some great walks overlooking the Peak District. Will definitely visit again. The hosts and the location cannot be faulted. Thank you.

Everything was lovely, was a really nice site and the facilities were clean and the shower was hot. It was the beginning of November but it was really quiet and peaceful. Walking into the village, definitely recommend taking a torch when heading back to campsite if you’re going to walk back on the roads. Would definitely stay here again!
Site's response
Thank you for your visit and review, Emma. Glad you found it peaceful and good advice re bring a torch. Hope to see you again
