We were looking for a place near Edinburgh, but on the road for Stirling, and this place is perfect. Very clean, the shower was hot and the pitch very large. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful site. With a hygiene area (toilet and shower), hook-up and water, it's perfect. I'd say it's more of an adults only site, as there's nothing to keep children entertained. But, it had everything I needed, and huge pitches too.

Directions were perfect, the welcome letter uses what3words so my satnav got me right to the door, not only that, the new AvTourer 3 Garmin satnav has this site on the page, simply search, click and hey presto, it’s there. On arrival one is requested to send a quick text, this was done and the warm welcome from Lynn ensued. Fantastic pitch, breathtaking scenery, service water and power right there. Grey waste at the pitch and the toilet waste was very nearby. Overall 10/10 from me and huge thanks to Lynn. See you again 👍 Colin Hunter

What a little oasis tucked out of the way, very quiet, very neat and tidy and very very clean. The pitches were well-spaced, the facilities and hook ups are excellent.

The Highland Gateway Glamping and Caravanning was great. The nature around the camping spot was absolutely beautiful but a little remote, which I guess is a good thing. Everything was super clean and quiet. The toilets and showers were the cleanest I have seen on any camping place thus far. In total, it was incredible.

Lovely site in a nice location. Only one shower though, but that was fine.
Site's response
Glad you liked our campsite but there are 2 showers, not 1. There is a campsite plan on the notice board at the toilet area and you get a link to the plan in your pre-arrival email.

Beautiful views, everything was really clean, owner was responsive and friendly and it was a lovely small quiet site. We were able to order takeaway from the site too which was very useful as it was the last of a 10 night trip and we had run out of energy and food! Will definitely stay again and considering the glamping pods as they look beautiful too.
One of the nicest sites we've been on

Absolutely spotless site and facilities. Peace and quiet is exactly what we needed and got. Friendly owner. Perfect for our visit to The Kelpies. I went with my adult son and he used Just Eat but there was a Co Op close by for supplies. Such a lovely spot and I will definitely be back.

Good clean site. Ideal for a stop-off to go further into Scotland. The scenery is nice on one side, the road on another, but it doesn't really affect If you just want to stay in camp and relax then perfect, to do more tourism, then not so much. But would definitely do 1 night again. Wi-Fi good, and clean showers.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, and it was nice you felt the campsite was clean and a good place to relax. A lot of our guests come because of our central location and short drive to many top-class, central Scotland attractions, but still in a quiet location. It is 1 mile from the main trunk roads north and south. Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away, Glasgow is 40 minutes, and you can see Stirling Castle and Wallace monument from the campsite. The world famous Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel are 15 minutes' drive away. The end of our driveway is the national cycle route number 76, we are 1 mile from the start of the Fife coastal route. Popular tourist attractions such Culross, where Outlander was filmed, and the Japanese gardens are 20 minutes' drive to name but a few. The road you are referring to is 0.5km from the campsite. On our website is a section on many of the local attractions and more.
Ideal for short visit to see Kelpies and The Wheel

Good dog walking on site. 2 shared loos and 1 shower to share between 6 pitches. Ok if you are happy to wait your turn, which we were. I believe additional facilities are in progress. However, I felt it could do with another shed just with sinks and mirrors in to have a simple freshen up and clean teeth. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
Site's response
Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay and recommend our site to others. We are a family-run, small, new campsite - only been open for 18 months and only have 6 hardstanding fully serviced pitches, with facilities stated in your review and an additional insulated building with another shower, toilet and 2 sinks opening soon. These additional, luxury facilities suggested, for such a small, independent, already well-serviced site we feel would be excessive for the size of our campsite. We already have a 4-star rating from Visit Scotland for our facilities.

Arrived at site was told pitch number 2. Nothing mentioned about caravan over hanging the pitch close to a boundary fence but no wheels on grass. Next day, we are out in Edinburgh and get message saying we need to move caravan forward as isn't right .I asked could we do tomorrow as we are out and was told that it needed moving as per the email. I felt it would be better if they would have said that's your pitch, do not over hang onto the grass, then I would have known. We had to cut short our Edinburgh trip to get back. In wind and rain, trying to move awning and a 23 foot caravan 2 feet forward wasn't an easy task. Yet, if you rent a pod you can actually park a car on the grass you just need to explain things properly, and maybe be bit more tolerant to a small mistake.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. The campsite noticed the morning after you arrived that a substantial part of your caravan was overhanging the back of the pitch and that part of the attached awning was pegged to the grass hitting the perimeter hedge. The stabilisers at the back of the caravan and the blocks they were on were on the grass as well. And as a result, there was a large amount of hardstanding pitch not used at the front. Our campsite licence states that each pitch must be 3 meters from the perimeter fence mainly as a fire break and to maintain the long-term condition of the grass. Two emails are sent, one on booking, and the other, the day before arrival, to guests, stating that vehicles, awnings, pup tents etc. must be on the hardstanding and hardstanding pegs are needed. It is very, very important that guests read these emails so they know what to do when they arrive. There is lots to do on the campsite and in the office so guests cannot always be met personally and all rules explained verbally. A text was sent about moving, but there was no mention of time scale or rushing back, that would not be a nice thing to do and we would not do that. The pod is new and the parking space on the grass is going to be dug up and hardstanding put in when time and funds allow.

Lovely campsite, we arrived an hour earlier, owners more than happy to allow us in. Lynn explained how everything worked, very friendly couple. You will not be disappointed with this campsite, from the heated showers to the cleanliness of the toilets, the whole place is worth 5*. We will definitely be back.

Great little site and convenient stop off on the way up to Inverness. It's a bit windy so advise bringing some guy lines if you have an awning. The toilets are nice, only one shower which is only in a shed but it works well, was very clean and the water is hot!

Thank you for your review, we call the shower the shower shack and it is cosy and well insulated.

Slightly unusual approach to the site past a Scottish Power site, but once you're there it's a great little site. Very friendly owner who keeps everything immaculate. Bijou, but very modern facilities. On the cycle routes, so loads of exploring to be done without taking the van anywhere.

This is a small site and so clean and tidy. I think it is a perfect stop and rest type location and ideal for Kelpies and onward travel plus exploring the local area. The host is a wonderful lady, I will be back in the Spring/Summer - Thank you.

Thanks, I try my best. You are right in what you say, a lot of our guests stay as rest stops heading north and south. There is plenty to see and do in the close surrounding area.
