Budle Bay Campsite is a five minute walk from Budle Bay, close to Lindisfarne and Holy Island. The village of Bamburgh is just five minutes down the road, with sand dunes, beautiful beaches and its famous historic castle. Grass and hardstanding pitches are available for tents and tourers, with a range of glamping huts on offer too. Enjoy glorious dark skies with nearby boat trips taking you to the Farne Islands, home to puffins in the summer!

Just stayed at this site and was fast and easy to book in. We had a tent with electric and not a problem. Facilities were clean and tidy, showers were nice. Expected much worse, especially for the price I paid. Was a washing station for you to do your dishes, a tap for drinking water and was fridges there, which I think you paid a bit extra for but I take a little fridge for the tent!

Hi Jemma - what a lovely review! Thanks so much.

Arrived Friday evening to a cheery welcome from the reception staff. Shown pitch for van and where to fill with water. Was parked and hooked up within minutes. Toilet and shower blocks were always clean and operational apart from when being cleaned. About a 2 mile walk along the coastal path to nearest town (Bamburgh) but we knew that when booking. A really quiet, tidy site, spot on for a relaxing stay.

Thanks for your great review Ron - much appreciated!

First time camping for many years and really enjoyed the whole experience. Owner of campsite introduced himself and asked how we were managing. Toilet blocks and showers clean and warm.
Site's response
Thanks for your comments. It was nice meeting you and hearing how your return to camping was going. It sounded like you will be doing more of it and hopefully with us again real soon! Take care and thanks again.

My son and I found it hard walking on the gravel roads to the toilets. I have knee problems and the son has hip problems. Other than that, it is a nice, quiet site. One piece of advice I would give is to read the site map upside down as the system is one way. The site is quiet and peaceful with plenty of good walking paths.
Site's response
Thanks for your review and feedback James. Regarding the paths around the site - this will be taken on board for sure. Hope to see you again.

The site is quite cosy - the pitches are close together, but as I was in my own in my van I didn't feel overly cramped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Independent pizza wagon behind the campsite looked great but I missed the booking window so can't comment - but have taken the number for next time! Walks from the camp do involve a section - 15mins- of main-road-verge-walking - but the beaches are fabulous.
Site's response
Thank you for your review! Glad you got to enjoy the beaches, and pizza is on the list for next time!
All in all, a compact site that works well

The staff were very welcoming. It seemed to be a busy site on arrival over a Bank holiday, so we were a little concerned. We need not have worried. Pitched next to the stream, that was the only gentle noise we heard. Easy access to Bamburgh and Seahouses.
Site's response
Thanks for your review, Sharman - it sounds like you got the full Budle Bay experience!

Lovely site, pitch next to the river. Lots of hot showers and good wash up. Friendly and helpful staff. Great place to discover all that Northumberland had to offer. Even the weather was kind.

Stayed in a cabin for 7 people, there were 2 adults, 4 kids aged 10-15 and a large dog. While the cabin was basic, it was great for the price, nice set up with a double bedroom, a 5-berth bunk room, and a kitchen diner. For basic glamping there was an under-bench fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, more than you would normally get. Cabin was clean, there was a decking area with a picnic bench out the front. There was an eco kitchen nearby with larger fridge-freezers, washing up sink and hobs. The toilet block was clean and also near to the cabins. Lovely play park at the entrance to the site. Staff were friendly and welcoming, quite happy to help when the 13 year old locked us out of the cabin! If you are happy to drive to get off the site, the location is great for Bamburgh, Seahouses, Lindisfarne and Alnwick. However, my 3 stars for location is only because there are no easy places to walk from the site as you have to walk along a busy B-road, which made it difficult for us with 4 kids and a nervous dog.

Hi Debbie - what a lovely review. Thank you! We will certainly pass on your feedback to our site Wardens. Hope to see you again.

Great location and has potential to be a great site, but it is lacking some upkeep. There seems to be lots of shed like buildings which I'm not sure of their purpose. The showers were lukewarm at best, push button style, a couple stayed on for maybe 10 seconds, the others more like 30 seconds. The toilet block was not clean, we were staying with our young children and we told them not to touch anything.
Site's response
Hi Esme. Thanks for your feedback. We had a quite serious staff illness this Winter, which is our usual renovation/expansion period. It meant we had to postpone building some additional glamping huts which had been started, but sadly this was out of our control.

Absolutely loved our stay here, reception staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Showers, toilets and washing up area were lovely and clean. Great hardstanding pitch with lots of space for awning (we booked a large pitch). Don't miss the freshly made pizza shed just up the lane near reception, they're amazing! Ideally located for Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, Alnwick & Berwick. Will definitely be back!

A great site, good location. Would stay again but toilets need a bit of an upgrade. There was water leaking on floor in a few of the cubicles.
Site's response
Thanks for your review, Lynda, and thank you for flagging up that little issue to us - we will get to work on that right away. Hope to see you on site again soon!

We Booked for 2 nights and extended another night as it was such a lovely site and location. I would have stayed longer still but the weather took a definite turn for the worst. Lovely campsite, good clean facilities - the complimentary use of fridges and freezers was really helpful. Excellent little shop in reception and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I felt really safe during my stay (lone woman) and would definitely recommend and return again myself if in the area.

Thanks for your lovely review! I'll certainly pass it onto our Warden team.

I was hiking along the coast and stayed at this campsite for one night. Reception were very friendly and I was given a lovely grassy pitch near the entrance. The facilities were good and there is a fantastic pizza van nearby - but make sure you go along early to avoid disappointment! Bamburgh is close by, as is Holy Island so a great location.
