Fire and Stars Woodland Camping is a relaxed woodland campsite set in 48 acres of National Forest in Leicestershire. With fantastic wildlife, great surrounding walking and cycling routes, and a nearby pub, guests can enjoy a quiet retreat back to nature! The site has a range of non electric tent pitches on the forest floor as well as gravel campervan pitches, all located in the woodland with their own private campfire area! Dogs are welcome.

About the site


Nestled in the heart of the National Forest, this woodland campsite is great for those looking to get back to nature! If you're after a family break or group getaway, the site has a range of spacious pitches as well as a social communal campfire area where you can enjoy evenings under the stars. There are a range of spacious non electric woodland tent pitches which can accommodate either one large tent or two smaller tents, as well as non electric campervan pitches that measure 2.8m x 6m and are suitable for campervans only. Each pitch also comes with its own private campfire area for guests to enjoy! The site also has a Woodland Bothole camping pod which sleeps two for those looking to ditch the tent! The kids are in for a treat with so much to keep them entertained, from the toy car track and 'mud' kitchen to the array of forest school activities on offer! What's more, the site's location makes it a perfect base for exploring all that Leicestershire has to offer, with Leicester City just a 35 minute drive! Guests can gather around the communal campfire or enjoy use of their own private one! You can even purchase logs onsite. If you're after dinner al fresco, BBQs are also permitted. Please note, campfires are only allowed in the site's designated areas and BBQs must be raised off the ground. If you're hoping to bring your four-legged friend along, dogs are more than welcome, with up to two pups per pitch.

The site is open all year round but is only open on the weekends between October and March.

The site has portable flushing toilets with sinks and hand sanitiser available. Please note, there are no showers or drinking water onsite but guests can walk less than five minutes to The Old Crown Inn Snarestone where they are permitted to use their showers for a small fee. There is also no electricity onsite so please make sure to bring your own torches and lamps.

Along with the group campfire area, there are a range of onsite activities to entertain guests from forest schools and workshops to a natural children's play area which includes a 'mud kitchen', tyre area and toy car track. Guests can also purchase logs from the site's log shed.

For grabbing the essentials, there is a Tesco Express a five minute drive away. For an evening tipple or bite to eat, The Old Crown Inn Snarestone is less than a five minute walk.

Welcome to our family-run woodland campsite, created with one goal in mind - helping you reconnect with nature. Three generations of our family work together to make each stay special, from the crackling glow of a proper campfire to the peaceful hush of the trees.

We love seeing how relaxed and refreshed people feel after a few days here. Every visit helps us protect these native woodlands for future generations, and we hope you'll leave with cherished memories and a renewed love for the outdoors.

This site is ideally located for exploring the surrounding woodland, set amidst over 48 acres of forest, guests can enjoy numerous woodland walks directly from the site.

Or if you're after something else to keep the little ones entertained, Drayton Manor Resort is just a 30 minute drive away and has some great rides to try out! The Conkers adventure playground is sure to be a hit with the children and is just 15 minutes away too.
