Things to do in Derby
One of Derby’s main draws is Markeaton Park. Kids can enjoy rounds of footgolf, pitch and putt as well as tennis. At lunchtime, find the perfect spot for a picnic in the gardens before taking a relaxing walk in the open air.
For the keen historian in the family, visit Pickford’s House. You’ll soak up the Georgian history as you walk around the establishment previously owned by John Pickford. Kids can even dress up in costumes from the period and have the opportunity to perform in the free-standing puppet theatre.
Continue your historic tour with a drive to Kedleston Hall. Enjoy walking on the lawns of the pleasure grounds of this National Trust property while also roaming the impressive halls that make up the 18th century mansion.
