This campsite does exactly what it says on the website. Great views, respectful campers, plenty of space, wonderful showers, hot water, eco friendly and a warm welcome. Ideally placed for walking, peace and handy pubs. Loved the wildlife, including red squirrels.
Site's response
What a lovely review, thank you - just what we like to hear! So pleased you enjoyed it and delighted you saw the red squirrels (one of the many spin offs of eco-friendliness). Hope to see you again sometime.

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved the campsite. Gorgeous views and lovely walks around the village of Ravenstonedale. Showers were clean and lovely and hot. Magnus was there to greet us when we arrived and we were able to have a lovely fire in the fire pit provided. We will definitely be back.
Site's response
So pleased you loved it here and enjoyed your campfire and some of the local walks. Many thanks for leaving your review and we'll look forward to seeing you again.

I was going to arrive after 8pm so called ahead and it was no problem. The farm was a little tricky to find in the dark but that's because the outside light was temporarily out of action. I was met by a lady who showed me to my pitch and pointed out the facilities. I put my tent up quickly and went to bed to get out of the rain. The next morning I went to use the facilities and was amazed at the quality. Compost loos that were clean, hot showers and plenty of washing up spaces, plus a seating area, all in what looks like brand new cabin buildings. There's also a very well maintained and marked out parking area. I visited during Storm Babet so didn't have the opportunity to explore the local area, but will return in the future for sure. Thank you for a comfortable stay despite the storm
Site's response
Thank you for your review. So glad you were comfortable during Storm Babet and we're delighted to know how pleased you were with our new facilities, thank you. On a technical note, while our rather special loos do save 1000s of gallons of wasted water, they're actually not compost toilets! We'll look forward to seeing you next time you visit.

Stayed one night on coast to coast. Nice site if a bit functional including the staff. At £18 for one person and a small tent, it was twice the price of other similar facilities. Got a good sleep when the families settled down for the night.
Site's response
Thank you for leaving your review. We're sorry you found it expensive for a single person. We do give a discount for solo travellers and included in our pitch price is a firepit, hot showers, free ice block freezing, fridge, and phone charging. Perhaps if you don't have a car or need any of those facilities it seems more expensive. Thanks for your feedback and we'll give it some thought.

A lovely campsite with good sized pitches, each with their own fire pit. Plenty of hot showers and toilets all spotlessly clean. We only stayed one night but could have happily stayed for a week.
Site's response
Many thanks for your review. It was lovely to meet you - you're very welcome to come for a week next time!

This is our second visit to Low Greenside campsite. Since our last visit, the shower and washing up facilities have been improved, making this a more enjoyable stay. Lovely site with amazing views and a great location for exploring the Lake District. We will definitely stay again and would recommend.
Site's response
Thanks for your review, Rachel. We're glad you enjoyed coming again and like the new campsite facilities. We agree - it's a great to be in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and have great access to the Lakes at the same time! Hope to see you again next year.

Brilliant site with access to main roads if needed. The host is so welcoming. The site is pretty flat with plenty of space to pitch. Good parking. Toilets excellent- very clever design. Showers are hot and plenty of space to change. Great little charging lockers for phones etc- all free. Chest freezer, fridge, books and maps. What more do you need? Oh an individual fire pit- yes that also is included (buy the logs from the host). Make sure that you try the two local pubs- The hanging kebab is fab in the Kings Head! Make sure you book for the evening- they are very popular- last orders 8pm! The other pub does not serve food on Tue and Wed but open until 10pm. A very nice walk to both. If you want a base to explore the Lakes- this is great. I will definitely stay again when up this way!

Would have been a lovely stay, but the group next to us were being very noisy until 2am, so we didn't get much sleep and our dog couldn't settle because of this.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your 5 stars. We're very pleased you liked the campsite but dismayed to learn you were bothered by noise. I know it was a Bank Holiday weekend when you stayed but that's not an excuse for noise until that time. We do check for noise after 10:30pm, especially at busy times, but it seems we missed this. If ever you should be disturbed by noise here, please let us know. You can ring us at any time and we'll ask the person nicely to keep it down. Thank you for not marking us down on this occasion. We hope to see you again sometime.

Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to extreme weather, but first impressions where this is a good site and we will return to try again another time. The owner was very helpful on arrival and the "wheel barrows" to transport your belongings from the parking area was a great idea. The facilities looked new and well kept. We will return when the wind is not a force10 gale!
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We're pleased you were favourably impressed - it's just such a shame Storm Betty arrived at the same time! We'll look forward to seeing you again in better weather.

Magnus and family have thought of everything and take a great deal of pride in this lovely campsite. It is well organised sustainability which manages to leave you feeling well looked after in a very hands off way. We were impressed with the waterless and odourless toilets and the EV charging on site. You could do without the car for several days if you brought food with you and/or ate at the local pub. There are plenty of interesting places to walk to. The toilets and taps are twinned, which means Magnus has contributed to the development of toilets in other parts of the world for each of his - this is an example of how he has set up the place so thoughtfully. Thank you Magnus - we hope to return some day.
Site's response
I'm so glad you came in the end and enjoyed your stay here, Julie. It was a pleasure to meet you and thank you for your kind words. We do try hard here to be as sustainable and eco friendly as we possibly can so it's great that you have appreciated our efforts. I'm sure we'll see you again.

Stayed for two nights, couldn't ask for any more. Brilliant (and clean) showers, toilets and washing facilities. Campfire with wood available to buy on site. Lovely village a 5 min walk away with a playpark for the little ones and two pubs for the not so little ones.
Site's response
Thanks Andy, glad you and the little ones had nice weekend.

We stayed in the bell tent, which has a bed, side tables and little table and stools, plus fairy lights and USB sockets/power packs and a cool box. It has a private compostible toilet (all the toilets in the shared facility block are also compostible) set far away enough from the tent to be private but close enough to get to in the night! Important to note, you can't park your car next to your text like so many campsites allow. This means it's really safe for children to play out, and no fear of being run over in your tent! Wheelbarrows are freely available to transport your belongings to your tent. Sheep in the fields next to ours made pleasant neighbours, and the views were amazing. Try to time your visit with a dark period of the month (with little moonlight) and enjoy the stars from the hammock! Brilliant location for exploring Cumbria, the Yorkshire Dales, the North Pennines and the Lake District. Magnus was the host and was really helpful, friendly and welcoming.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your review of the bell tent, Jessica. It was a pleasure to meet you both. I'd hate to rub it in but the day after you left we saw quite a few shooting stars when the skies were clear ;-) Hopefully next time you come you'll be able to enjoy them from the hammock at night.

Brilliant site with lovely facilities and available staff. Beautiful views and two excellent pubs in walking distance. Only negative was being able to hear traffic from the road at night, but appreciate there's nothing the owners can do about that!

Thank you Alice! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay!

Great place- warm welcome on arrival and lots of options as to where to pitch. Can't take cars to pitch but wheelbarrows provided to help transport kit. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities were immaculate- brand new and very clean. Charging facilities in lockers were very helpful and was the large chest freezer. Would have helped to have a drying room owing to the rain, but other than that, can't fault the place. Beautiful views and cracking pubs within walking distance too.
Site's response
Thank you Nick, it was a pleasure to meet you. So pleased you enjoyed your stay and you liked our new facilities, makes it all worth while!

This small campsite is set in a stunning location, with views of the fields and dales surrounding it. The field is thoughtfully arranged, with pitch free meadows, which add to the charm. The facilities are clean and modern, with piping hot showers that were amazing after a long day hiking. Only improvement I could think of is maybe a sign for the bins as it took us a while to find them. But with such beautiful scenery, I really didn't mind wandering about looking for them 😊 The pics are of our neighbours 😊 We will definitely be back!
Site's response
Thank you for your lovely review, Liz. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here and got on well with the neighbours. I've noted your thought about a sign for the bins and I'll have a think about where to put one. See you next time, Magnus.

From being greeted by the lovely Magnus and being shown around the week we stayed was perfect, all the little touches were there, it's clearly a campsite designed by campers. New family shower units, toilet block, good free hot showers. Charging lockers for power banks. Great job! Scenery is spectacular and getting a guidebook for walks from the farm was very useful, we did 3 and they were all great. Pub quite local (Kings Head) serves hiking portions of good food. Nearest village is a short drive away to Kirkby Stephen. I've camped quite a lot and as I said to Magnus this is in my top picks, if not our favourite. Don't bother if you're a party animal. It's serene and beautifully peaceful. We'll be back.
Site's response
Wow Zoe, that is such a great review! Thank you! It looks like you've picked up on all the best things about our campsite and I'm glad we're your new favourite! See you again soon.

Facilities were great! The weather was very miserable and wet but thankfully there were 2 great pubs a short walk away. Peaceful field to pitch the tent in. The new showers and toilets were good! Perhaps could have been checked for cleanliness more frequently as the wet weather made things a bit muddy. I would only make one small suggestion - perhaps a kettle in the kitchen area! It was too wet to crack out the camping stove and the chance to make a brew would have been great! Magnus was friendly and approachable and we liked that there was a fire pit as part of the pitch. Car park was right next to the field and wheelbarrows were available to move gear.
Site's response
Many thanks for your review. You certainly had some wet weather and we apologise if you encountered some mud in the facilities. We always give them extra attention in wet weather but it seems on this occasion we didn't quite keep up. Glad you liked the facilities otherwise and the fire pits are included on every pitch. Hope you get some sunshine next time!
