What a brilliant find. Only 15 minutes away from home, from Bury St. Edmunds and from Newmarket. Loads of stuff for the kids to do. Fully serviced and spacious pitches. Complimentary chicken friends and a cat roaming around. Spotlessly clean. Quiet after 9.30pm with everyone being very respectful. Very basic, but clean toilets and showers. Definitely coming back.

This stay was the first time camping with our 5yo son and he loved the site. Mini golf, playground and animals, perfect for a family stay. I can recommend this campsite.

Really happy with our stay, people were helpful in every way possible. Some good services there, archery, gym, etc. Felt really welcome and had no bother at all. Will definitely come again.

Really nice site, a short walk into the village where there are 2 nice pubs. The cafe on site was also very nice, serving breakfast and pizzas for tea. A family and dog friendly site.
Cracking little site!

Me, my wife and our two young children stopped here as it was the first time going away in our trailer tent. What was meant only as a trial run has introduced us to a site that we will 100% come back to again. Kids loved it and were sad to leave. Very close to Bury and other large villages whilst also feeling like you're well out the way in a countryside setting. On site facilities were great with plenty of showers/toilets and in a clean state. Loads for the kids to play on and plenty of space. Pitches are a great size and other campers are very respectful. Would definitely recommend, thank you!

This was our first trip and we were on pitch 18 and was impressed with size of pitch and that it was a fully serviced pitch. The outside facilities are very rustic and not very clean. However, as we have a motorhome we can choose to use our own, so it wouldn't put us off staying here again. There is a lovely, off lead dog walk, and a park for kids and dogs 20 mins from site. The local chippy, we were disappointed to find only takes cash 😏 very unusual nowadays, so we gave it a miss as we don't carry cash. The onsite cafe is very plain, not really appealing. However, the large serviced pitch and locality, along with a nice small campsite would not put us off returning.
Site's response
Thanks for reviewing us. I am sorry you found our facilities in not the best state, we do our best to keep them clean with a main clean and two checks every day as a minimum. We actually had another review for the same dates which said how clean they were, so maybe you were unlucky with your timing. Our cafe is new for us this year and we try to keep a varied menu, our pizzas are proving very popular as are our breakfast baps. There is also a pub in the village serving food so plenty of options on most days. We hope to see you again.

Couldn't fault it. The campsite had all we needed and more. The glamping cabin was comfy, we all slept really well and it was such a bonus not having to put the tent up arriving late on Friday night. Great base for exploring Suffolk,

Thank you. Glad to hear that our pod is comfortable and bringing your own bedding helps ensure a good nights sleep.

We stayed with friends at this site and had 2 grass pitches with EHU. The pitches are a really good size and well maintained. The site is lovely and very close to the village. There are a lot of activities on site and I should think it is a great place to stay with children in the holidays. However, it was quiet when we went and just so lovely and peaceful. A great place to just sit and take in the surroundings and watch nature. There was also the bonus of the chickens visiting and the resident cat (not actually a resident apparently, but she didn't seem to care about that). For us though, we loved the fact that they popped in to say hello. Location wise, this site is well placed and the village has everything you need with 2 pubs, 2 shops and a chippy. It was also a short bike ride into Bury St Edmunds. Facilities - The site has a games room and outside play area for children. There is a laundry room and washing up facilities. Also onsite is mini golf, escape rooms, gym and treatment rooms which are an extra cost but we didn't use these. There is also a small animal area. There are plenty of toilets around the site but only a few showers. We found the ones inside to be better (although we didn't try them all). I was thankful though, that the site was quiet, as I'm not sure what they would be like when busy. Communications were really good and we was given all the information we needed. Julie also popped by and made sure we was all ok and that we had everything we needed. Everyone was very friendly. All in all we had a very good few days and enjoyed our visit.
Site's response
Thank you for the review. With regard to busy times, it is very rare that all showers are in use, we have nine in all.

A nice place to stay, would go again, the kids enjoyed it. The crazy golf was the kids' highlight, although pricey with 3 kids - £40 for two rounds. Seems plenty to do, i.e. archery, grown up assault course, escape room - all this literally next to the campsite, but everything was extra. However, the campsite was lovely and clean, very good facilities, easy access, very well planned and first class contact with gate codes, pitch etc. This was a big plus and one of the best for this. Would we go again? Yes. Would we recommend? Yes.
Excellent lots of great things for the kids and very friendly staff

Lovely little campsite with plenty for the kids to do such as mini golf, archery and the escape rooms. We stayed in the pod, which was very nice indeed - clean, spacious with all mod cons. Ice cold air con, which was a godsend as the weather was so hot. Handy little café/bar, plenty of showers and loos. Good location near town of Bury St Edmunds for activities such as swimming, Lazer Quest and go carts. The village the campsite is located in has lovely pubs and convenience stores. Would definitely stay again.
Good value rustic site!

Good location for visiting Newmarket racing! Would stay again for that purpose. Friendly owner allowed us to have a late checkout on departure day at no extra charge. Good value nightly rate with EHU. Only criticism would be the cleanliness of showers and loos.

A truly wonderful campsite with good size pitches and friendly and helpful staff. Toilets and showers were rustic but clean with lovely hot water. We were a family of adults and elder children but still found lots to do, including football, mini golf, escape room and next door is an assault course and axe throwing. Even has animals and some free range chickens roaming about! Couldn’t ask for a nicer campsite and we are already discussing coming back.

Lots for children of all ages to do. Lovely walks. Café and bar onside. Showers clean and lovely and warm. I stayed in the glamping pod very clean and comfy. My daughter, son in law and baby grandson took their tent. My son and his 2 boys (8 and 12) took their tents. Pitches were a great size. We all had a fabulous time. Stayed for 2 nights. Would highly recommend the site.

I stayed at Church View for a couple of nights while cycling across Suffolk. It's a very friendly, easy going, slightly quirky site, down a lane from the centre of the village of Barrow. The location is quiet despite being not far from the A14 and the facilities were everything I needed. Having the bar on site sets Church View apart from most campsites, being able to sit in the shade with a cold cider after a long hot bike ride was much appreciated and in the morning it was somewhere to buy a coffee before setting off, instead of having to find a café. The site is very family friendly and there are lots of kids around but I wasn't disturbed by them at all, although I did sometimes have to join the queue for feeding the guinea pigs! I'll definitely stop at Church View again the next time I'm passing through. As an aside, there is also a small post office on the lane into Barrow which people may find useful.

A short weekend was spent on the site, but all staff were friendly. The set-up could not have been any better, facilities were always spotless. I couldn't find a single fault, we had a great time and will 100% be returning.
