About Bonnie Park

Bonnie Park is a small, peaceful camping and touring site that runs the length of the River Rule, ideally located in the Scottish borders area in Bonchester Bridge village. There are forest walks in abundance and nature trails to explore. The site welcomes all and can accommodate tents, campervans, caravans, and motorhomes, as well as roof tents and trailer tents, across a variety of pitches. Ranging from riverside locations to non-electric grass pitches and a range of hardstanding. If you are looking for a small, quiet and peaceful campsite in an idyllic village, with a country inn, this is a great choice. Quiet time is from 11pm until 7am. There is a woodland walk along the river accessible from the site and numerous walks on the outskirts of the village. There is a communal area for a campfire. Individual fire pits and BBQs are permitted, but must not be left unattended and please do not harm the grass and surrounding area. It is suggested you bring a torch to Bonnie Park as it is quite dark in the evenings. The night skies are quite breath-taking on a clear night! Dogs are very welcome on site but must be on a lead at all times whilst on the site.

Open from 1 June to 31 August

A note from the site themselves...

Originally set up in the 70s, the site was sold, and the owners sadly didn't continue with the campsite. When we recently bought it, the local council's blessing meant we could reopen this lovely riverside campsite!

Old school Scottish banter and a slower and peaceful pace of life permeates the village, and you will certainly leave having had the feeling that you have been fully immersed in Scotland's traditional and agricultural heartland.

Having a love of the outdoors, countryside, walking Libby (our mischievous sighthound mix) and good old fashioned community... getting to know your neighbors.. having a good old chinwag, we feel blessed to have found a little slice of heaven called Bonchester Bridge!

There is nothing like hearing the Rule river meandering through Bonnie Park, the bird song, watching the lambs leaping and catching a glimpse of the local heron, to name but a few things that bring joy!

The simple life is what it is all about and if you feel the same... then welcome to Bonnie Park.

Unfortunately Bonnie Park doesn't share their availability calendar with us yet. Availability changes quickly, especially in summer, so we recommend enquiring by phone to avoid missing out.

In order to ensure that everyone enjoys their holiday, the following rules must apply:

• All visitors must report to the warden on arrival. If arriving after 5 pm must be notified no later than 2pm on the day of your arrival. They cannot accommodate arrivals after 8pm.

• Before traveling, you must familiarize yourself with the Scottish Government guidelines on the .Gov.scot website and adhere to them where applicable.

• The toilet and shower facilities get cleaned once a day and you are respectfully asked to clean up after yourself. It is too small a site to have staff constantly cleaning up after guests. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

• Children must be supervised at all times. This is particularly important along the riverbanks and around BBQ's etc.

• There is a speed limit of 5mph on the site - this includes bicycles.

• Strictly One car only per pitch. Do not park on unoccupied pitches and visitors you have must find a parking space outside of the park. When your guests arrive, they must let the warden know they have arrived and equally when they depart.

• Bonnie Park is an environmentally conscious venue. A limited number of pitches have EHU, but they encourage the use your PV installations where fitted. Using generators to charge your leisure batteries is permitted only between 9am and 11am. A small number of trickle chargers are available in the facilities building (ask the warden) to recharge leisure batteries with a trolley available to transport your battery from the pitch to the building and back, you are only charged the same unit cost as they are charged by the supplier for this service which is currently 34p per unit. Please note that they take no responsibility for the condition of your batteries prior, during or after charging.

• Charging points for devices are available in the washrooms free of charge.

• Subletting your tourer/tent or any other form of accommodation is not permitted under any circumstance.

• Noise levels must be kept to a minimum and no noise at all between the hours of 10pm and 9am.

• Pets are very welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised off park where possible. Any fouling must be cleared up at once. If you have a dog that's noisy or behaving badly, the site may ask you to take them away. So please keep your dog on a lead and make sure a responsible adult is looking after it and not left unattended at any time. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Horse & Hound pub nearby.

• Takeaway food delivery drivers must report to the warden on arrival and no deliveries arranged for after 9pm.

• Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied in the kitchen, sluice, toilet & shower building.

• All barbecues must be kept off the grass and must be supervised by an adult. Do not place hot ashes in the bins, douse the BBQ with water when finished. No open fires or chimineas permitted.

• Please ensure that there is no littering. All your rubbish must be disposed of in the bin area provided. Crush cardboard boxes, tins and plastic bottles etc. Any non-domestic waste must NOT be left on the Park.

• Do not flush anything other than toilet tissue in the toilet.

• On departure, the pitch must be left free of debris/rubbish. The pitch must be left in the same clean and tidy condition as when you arrived.

• Please respect other guests' privacy and keep to paths or tracks without taking shortcuts through their pitches.

• The site can accept no responsibility for any accident, loss or damage to any persons or property on this Park, however caused.

• The site reserve the right to evict any person or persons and their group not abiding by these rules, causing a nuisance, or having a negative impact of the enjoyment of others. There will be no refund of any kind. Bonnie Park is a quiet, well mannered and considerate park. If the rules cannot be adhered to please consider another park more suited to your needs.

• Bonnie Park will be planting native species trees including oak, beech, willow and cherry over the next two years to replace the non-native Sitka spruces and larch that were removed from the site during the park redevelopment. Please stay clear of any areas planted so that they get the best chances of survival.
