Camping at Golspie is a hardstanding site located just outside the small village of Golspie in Scotland, just off the infamous North Coast 500. Home to spacious non-electric and electric hardstanding pitches, the site is suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans. Ideally located, it's a short distance to award-winning sandy beaches, stunning Big Burn waterfall, Dunrobin Castle and the Highland Wildcat Mountain bike trail.

Great stop, if a bit overpriced as no facilities for washing dishes. Only 1 shower and 2 toilets and also need to pay £1 to use shower after paying £27 for the night. A bit loud next to main road.

A small site just yards off the A9/NC500, with one unisex toilet and one shower with toilet. They don't advertise the facilities, as they are not always available (freezing weather etc). Therefore, it's only suitable for campervans and motorhomes. There were electrical hook ups in most bays, a chemical toilet disposal point, a grey water drain and drinking water points. The site was very clean and tidy, with spotlessly clean facilities. I recommended for an overnight stop.

I was a little apprehensive at the thought of staying in a business park but it was totally unfounded. The site is easy to find and the owner is very helpful and accommodating. The site felt secure and it was quiet, with well organised spaces. Brilliant idea for welcoming campervan visitors/ tourists to the area without causing disruption and inconvenience to the local community. Just as an extra point, the local butcher in Golspie was also very friendly and worth a visit.

Arrived late afternoon but no one was at reception. I had not received a gate code but one nice chap opened the gate for us. Apart from that the stay was okay, if a bit low budget. We were only staying one night so not too bothered. Can recommend as a quick stopover

Loved staying here after a very long drive from London. Couldn't find any issues. Close to the town with lovely fish and chips. Facilities are good. Some people will moan you have to pay £1 for a 4 min shower, but that's all I needed. All I would say is maybe a "occupied" sign on the bathroom, only because a few people were pulling at the door when I was using it. Fantastic stay and great service.

Last minute booking. Small but very clean and tidy site. Toilet and shower facilities also clean. Shower is £1 for 4 mins. Has toilet disposal point and electric hook ups if needed for £27 a night. We paid £22 for non electric. Hardstanding and landscaped. Lady on the phone was very friendly when I phoned to request the access code for the gate.

This is a great little site not too far from the shops and pubs, the beach is a short walk away. The site itself seems to be relatively new and will be even better once the landscaping has grown. There are all the amenities you require for an overnight stay. It is on a main road which got a little busy around 7 ish. It's a quiet spot on a business park, I'd definitely recommend for an overnight stop.

Clean tidy quiet site. With plenty of space for even large motorhomes. All facilities easy accessible. Would use it again.

Very small campsite on an industrial estate. Unfortunately, while we were at the site, there was a power cut. Also, I really don't agree with paying for a shower when you already paid for staying on the site. It was 4 minutes for £1. That's really not enough time to wash your hair, let alone anything else.

Not what we expected on arrival, it's just off the road on a small industrial estate. That said, it was a super clean site and very quiet. Trees have been planted to make it more green and the pitches are surrounded by grassy areas. Very handy for Golspie.

Lovely stop over on the NC500. Cassette toilet emptying point was blocked so could not use it. No one on site, but I'm sure it was sorted straight away. Lovely town and distant sea views.

Was not what was expected on an industrial estate.
Site's response
Camping at Golspie, Golspie Business Park is on the southern outskirts of Golspie, benefitting from excellent road transport links to the main A9 Inverness/Wick trunk road. All local services and amenities can be found in Golspie, a short walk away. We are a small motorhome Aire based in the small Business Park providing all amenities for guests. We have big skies above us and with open countryside, mountainous and sea views all around. There are only 2 offices based in the Business Park, from which a minimal amount of traffic frequents the Business Park. So to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstanding, I want to state that Camping at Golspie is not located within an Industrial Estate.
Not happy having to pay for a shower

It was a bit noisy from the cars passing on the road and we were also not happy having to pay to use the shower.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We are in a great location just off the notorious NC500, (A9) in Golspie. As a main corridor trunk road, there will be some road noise but does quieten down during the night. We are predominately a motorhome Aire, though we try and cater for everyone. We don't advertise a shower on site because as a year round site we have to close the shower during the frosty winter months and wouldn't want to disappoint prospective guests. We decided that by installing a shower facility, it allowed us to offer more services to those who don't have their own facilities on board, eg, rooftop tents, walkers, cyclists, wild campers etc. So to keep our prices competitive, we ask for a small contribution towards the running costs of the electric shower. The shower has proven to be very popular with guests but it's a matter of choice as to whether you shower in your own van or use our clean spacious shower for £1.

This park was perfect for an overnight stay, if your on route, or you want to explore the area. It's a small site, with good hardstanding, clean facilities. You do need to pay a £1 if you want to use the shower and you also need to pay £10 to dispose of your chemical waste here. Overall, it suited us for a one night stay.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Just to confirm that paying guests do not need to pay the £10 service charge, as this is included in the pitch fee. As an additional service, we offer a useful onsite service point for motorhome and campervan users to maintain their vehicle services whilst travelling.

A well organised, clean site, well located for the beach. We visited out of season so it was quiet. Site well organised, clean, disabled toilet/shower facility exceptional (in my view) for a campsite. Close to sandy beach for dog walks and Golspie town centre close by too. Site easy to find and access. Hosts attentive with texts checking everything was okay. Would definitely return.

Lovely night stay here, wasn't sure what to expect with it being a business park, but it's beautiful. Toilets are clean also offering a leaflet stand of places to visit in Scotland, which is always handy. My partner paid £1 for the shower which he said was nice. It is so peaceful and quiet, all you hear is often the cars driving by but during the evening it is dead silent. Would recommend and will defo come again.

This campsite was perfect for our stay. Each pitch has access to electricity and water and there’s a toilet and shower available. Host’s communication is clear and she’s at the end of a phone if needed. The location is great, easy walking distance into Golspie and the beach plus access to longer walks if you want them. We had an amazing time here and I’m already planning a return trip!

Convenient on the NC500 loop. Ann was very helpful. Don't forget your £1 coins for 4 minute shower. Facilities were spotless, I'd stay again.

We knew before we arrived that there were no shower facilities, but this did not affect our stay at all. The toilet facilities are very clean and in fact, there is a shower which needs to be paid for, if need be. The location is brilliant and a coastal path is very close and also a walk (climb!) up to the Sutherland monument. Once up there, the views are spectacular and worth the effort. I would recommend this campsite and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Beside a busy-ish road so some passing traffic noise overnight but didn't prevent a good night's sleep. Otherwise very convenient, extremely clean and well kept site. There was a lovely shower room and separate toilet, grey water disposal and close to shops/eateries. It is also dog friendly. Great communication from the owner. Would definitely recommend.
