About the site
The farm has been in the Lomas family for more than 30 years and is a well established, peaceful and friendly site. The park is located just inside the south eastern corner of the Peak District, 20 minutes from Matlock and 15 minutes from Bakewell.
The site has two large fields for camping and a separate one with a limited number of electric hook-ups (available to both tents and tourers). All are on gently sloping grass and you can pitch wherever you like. The children's play area is a big hit - and you can camp without electric right alongside it if you wish.
Those seeking extra comfort will love the site glamping pods, with outdoor decking, a cosy double bed and bunk beds.
You are welcome to have open fires, providing they are raised off the ground, and fire pits are available for hire if required.
For the kids, friendly Gulliver's Kingdom offers plenty to explore.
This is a working farm, with friendly onsite animals - the pigs are always hungry, and the ponies love to be pet!
Dogs are welcome on a lead with campers at no charge.
Middlehills Farm is open from 02/05 to 13/09.

A note from the site themselves...
Middlehills Farm has been a campsite and in the family for over 30 years. It was originally run as a working farm, with holiday cottages, B and B and small campsite, sadly my father in law passed away and my husband and I took over the running of the farm.
16 years later and we no longer farm, but have created a family orientated campsite which many people return to too, due to the outstanding views, excellent play area and friendliness of the campsite, things which we are very proud of, we have worked incredibly hard to create such a great place which is also our home which we can hopefully pass down to our children in the future.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024
The site was very clean and the people very friendly and helpful. I had 3 children and was camping on my own with them.
I always felt safe and the children spent a lot of their time on the playground or petting the animals - they loved it. The views are lovely and there wasn't a lot of noise. The top field can get windy at times, so be aware if taking a gazebo if the weather looks bad. There is quarry noise but it didn't bother us. It's really convenient for Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock Bath and Carsington Water but be prepared to take the car.
My car wouldn't start on both mornings we were there and I had to ask for a jump start from some friendly campers and when that didn't work, the campsite staff - they were amazingly helpful and got me going again within minutes. I'm so incredibly grateful to them as it's tough camping on your own, but I know very little about cars so that could have ended our trip. As it was, their help enabled us to carry on and my husband has bought us a new car battery now we're home!
We will definitely be back. A fantastic site with fantastic staff - thank you so so much! 😁
Brilliant campsite
