Fantastic location for wild camping and firewood available at the site. Unfortunately, while we were there the toilet block was out of action.
Lovely, quiet site in the Welsh mountains

Always nice to find a site that encourages a campfire. I would recommend this site for anyone wanting a quiet stay with views of the Welsh mountains. However, I wouldn't recommend the site for people that are disabled or require their car to be next to their tent as you have to walk up a short but steep hill to reach the camping area. Despite that I would recommend and return to this campsite!

Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. My staff are more than happy to drive guests camping equipment up to the Wild Camping area on the quad.
Enjoyable!

Sam is by far one of the friendliest people we have ever met and what a great host. The accommodation is perfectly out of the way, right in the middle of nature. It's not often you get to sleep in a what is basically a tree house for a fraction of the price of some park chains. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Such a naturally beautiful and peaceful place. Buzzards, swallows, owls, far reaching views to hills and lakes. If you want the closest thing to wild camping (but with a great hot shower!) this is it, Off the beaten track, literally. Nearest shop is 6 miles, turn left or 10 miles, turn right. Sam and Darren are always working around the forest and are great to chat to and always willing to help. Blissful solitude.
Amazing people, spectacular views and a lovely site

This site is amazing! Firstly this is supposed to give you a wild camping experience, if you don't want that, you won't enjoy it. We were welcomed by Sam, who was super cheery, smiley, happy and helpful. So friendly, which made a great start after a 2 hour drive. We parked, walked up and pitched our tent then came back to move our car to an allocated location. We're chatty people and spent a bit of time talking to Sam. He told us about the sunset times and where we could go locally, we were just happy looking around as it's a working farm so there's cows and sheep everywhere, if you're into your wildlife there is so much to see. I've seen people complain about sheep poo by their tent which is ridiculous to be honest. After a bit of walking around, we headed back up to the site to watch the sunset which was incredible and we met Sam's dog, she's very sweet. There's on-site toilets which is obviously brilliant as you don't have to do your business outside and there's showers available, men and women separately. The whole experience was just fantastic, everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the other campers were all there for a good time. I think everyone is so jolly because of Sam's welcome! Anyway, thanks very much for having us, we will see you again soon. Liam & Jess

Very cute little electric pod. Nice and private in a remote area. Lovely walk to the reservoir through the woods in the area.

Lovely little place, very peaceful area and great views, owners are super welcoming and friendly. Sinks now permanently turned off, replaced with one outside tap which I would've preferred to have been notified of before arrival. We went on a very quiet weekend and I feel that at their full capacity, people would struggle to find good spots to pitch their tents up and would be rather crowded with the facilities. Other than that, fantastic place and I do recommend!

We just spent the most relaxing, awesome weekend at Hafod. The location is just stunning & so peaceful. The photos do not do it justice. The most amazing sunsets over the paddocks & nearby reservoir. The pod offered ample space with a great decking & campfire position for relaxing amongst the trees. This site is wonderfully rustic. The facilities are simple but clean & the people are relaxed and welcoming. Not often you have sheep come to visit you for a campfire or sleep under your camping pod! All part of its unique charm. This place is special and we will definitely be back to continue exploring the area.

Lovely campsite with no mobile reception. We had a few sheep coming to say hello in the evening. Toilets were clean and worked well. Hosts were helpful and friendly.

Looking for a break over the bank holiday weekend, and I had a lovely time at Hafod camping. The people were wonderful, very accommodating and had great suggestions for food and places to visit in the local area.

If you want to disconnect from the busy world back home with a wild camping experience but with the added bonus of some toilet/shower facilities, then you must try this place. Staff are wonderful and on point should you need any help, but also non invasive. The views from all spots are stunning and it's great being able to have a campfire going at night while relaxing to the sounds of nature. No signal allows you to really switch off so we really embraced this. We can't wait to visit again later this year.

Good remote location. Great service. More ideal for smaller tents and long stays but that's just my opinion. Nearest town is Denbigh, 15-20 minute drive away with some pubs (no food served) on our visit. Also a Morrison's with a petrol station. They offer firewood and they provided us with a tarp which was very helpful. They are all kind and accommodating. Would stay again.

An awesome place, really helpful friendly hosts. Shower/toilet units are not quite completed, hence only 3 stars, but when finished it will be 5. Perfect for campers preferring a wild feel. Totally recommend. Hope to return later in the year.

The campsite is set in beautiful surroundings and chock full of wildlife. On the way in alone, I saw a huge bird of prey (not sure exactly what as I'm not an ornithologist) and a heron. I heard geese, blackbirds, robins and a woodpecker during our stay and they were just the ones that I recognise. The views across the valley to the mountains are spectacular especially on a cold, frosty sunny morning. The toilet block was being rebuilt after damage during recent storms so was not fully functional whilst I was there, hence the lower score for facilities, but the owners were working hard so I'm confident there will be no problems in the future so don't let this put you off. Overall this is a great campsite and I do plan on going back.

Hi, thanks for your kind words. I am pleased to say the shower block is now up and running!! We always have a battle with the elements but we're winning!!
