Balloch O Dee Campsite is situated on the edge of the Galloway National Forest Park in Dumfries and Galloway. Surrounded by trees and mountains, this tranquil site offers a real chance to get away from it all. It has a unique feel with free range hens, ducks and chicks wandering around the site, all waiting to meet you. Glampers are spoiled with a range of unique options too.

Great wee campsite, owners were welcoming on arrival. The site was fairly quiet during our stay so almost felt like wild camping but with the luxury of facilities! Loved having the dug out fire pit. They have bags of logs for £6 but I'd recommend bringing your own as they were very small (atleast half a bag of mostly kindling) but apart from that, all good. 😊

Myself and my friend had an amazing time at this campsite. Plenty of great spots to set up your tent with loads of places to have a fire going. With two large covered areas to cook or relax under if it gets a bit to windy or rainy at the tent. The toilet and shower facilities were great as well with 5 toilets and 2 showers, so there's plenty so you're not waiting. 4 places to wash pots and pans with fresh drinking water taps. I can't think of anything else the campsite would need.

No fuss, campsite is ideal for tent campers. Love the birds and animals. Has everything you need, even baskets for clothes in the shower.

Total random find online, and was well worth it. Stunning location, facilities were plentiful and so clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful. As a very inexperienced camper the most important thing was the toilets etc, and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely going back. Highly recommended.

What a campsite, 1st time camping in Scotland and so glad we chose this campsite. Just a beautiful, well-maintained site with fab scenery all around. So warm and friendly and the facilities were great with lots of lovely little details. Kids are just 1 and 6 and they loved it. So much to do and see just a short car journey away too. We will be back.

Fantastic facilities and owners were very friendly and helpful. This is a quiet site but you can sit outside all night if you wanted, as long as you respect the other campers and you keep your voices down!

Although I only stayed for 2 nights it was the perfect wind down for me. A lovely welcome when I arrived, beautiful pitch with picnic table and fire pit and loads of facilities if the weather was not kind (thankfully didn't have to use these). Great vibe and very chilled out stay. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic little campsite where we stayed in the yurt. Despite the bad weather it was comfortable and nice. The owner James was just wonderfully friendly. There is so much attention given to make the place look beautiful and welcoming!

A beautiful site, with amazing facilities! The hosts were incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome. The toilets were wheelchair accessible which is not always the case in campsites! And we enjoyed spotting the baby chicks roaming around with their mama hen. We hope to return again soon!

I stayed here the final night of my two week road trip and wow what a way to round off the trip! The site is incredible. The views are amazing, it was super quiet, the facilities are some of the best I've ever seen. There was a few dogs and a handful of chickens just wandering around to say hello. It was perfect.
