We had a lovely time at Knotlow Farm. It is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and is very spacious. The facilities were clean and tidy. In the reception, they sell a few essential items. They also provide home made pizzas which were delicious! It is about a mile walk to a lovely pub called The Bull's Head which has lots of lovely drinks and the food was amazing! We would visit this campsite again.

Lovely campsite, not very busy which was great! Lawn mowed to perfection! Lots of space and choice for pitching. Toilets were very clean and tidy. Breakfast baps in the morning were delicious too. Only downside we were neighbouring some very noisy cows overnight! Not an issue with the campsite, just very noisy farm neighbours! Beauty of the countryside.

This was our first visit to the site. A very pleasant experience. Pizza at night and bacon baps for breakfast were good. Toilet and washing block were clean and good quality. Recommended.

What a beautiful site Knotlow Farm is. So peaceful and has everything you need for your stay. It is so well kept - very clean and tidy and in a very peaceful location. We couldn't fault it at all. I would recommend it 100% to those who are looking for beautiful surroundings and peace and quiet. It is an excellent base for exploring Derbyshire.

Really good, great location and super quiet. Some of the ground a bit slopey, but not too much of a problem as so quiet.

Our first time camping was lovely at Knotlow Farm! We arrived at 2pm when you can check in and found a lovely spot on the Maple Site. There are lots of spaces to pitch up. The staff at the reception were friendly. The toilets and showers were a bit of a walk away from the Maple Site but easy to find and they were basic and clean. Showers were busy at 9am. Lovely view across the countryside with fields of cows and fields of sheep behind our pitch. It was very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from the reception the next morning which we ordered before 8pm. Very near to the Monsal trail and a few walks nearby but as we were only there for one night, we just had a chilled night by the tent. Really nice peaceful campsite and clean facilities. There were planes flying overhead but didn't think it spoiled it or made it too noisy, definitely didn't keep us awake at night. Next time we would hire a fire pit from the reception. We had a BBQ but lifted it off the ground. Would return.

I stayed on the 'adult' field and only lasted 1 night instead of the two I paid for. There is nothing worse than groups of couples and their dogs, and that is what I was faced with. The straw that broke the camel's back was when a couple pitched up just 2 feet away from me. There was plenty of space so I don't quite understand why. They argued continuously and ignored their barking dog. Not my idea of peace and quiet!
Site's response
I am sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience, Joanna. In regards to the distance, we do ask everyone to keep a 6 meters distance so they unfortunately ignored our instructions. We don't book groups but we do get couples that book separately and pitch together, generally no more that 2 or 3. We do try to vet bookings as much as possible. We go out in the evenings after the 10pm no noise policy and I don't recall any noisy campers on the adult area that weekend. We do act on any complaints if we are made aware of any disturbances.

We fancied a day in the peaks, somewhere near Bakewell, so booked to stay at Knotlow, having never been before. Campsite was spacious and well maintained with good facilities. On arrival the person I spoke with in reception was lovely, explained where everything was and they let us choose our own spot. The site as a whole had a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Separate areas dependent on party, so had separate areas for young families which seemed a good idea. Location was ideal for Buxton and Bakewell, and the beautiful surroundings Peak District. One slight negative is that the site seemed to be below a flight path, and the sound of planes at night perhaps could disturb some. Would definitely come back to this site and plan on doing so very soon.

Myself, my mum and my sister had a really nice stay here. The other campers were all very respectful and friendly and there were no noise disturbances at all. The location is really beautiful and scenic. The camping space itself isn't huge but there is a good amount of space between tents for your space to be personal. The facilities are excellent. I wasn't 100% pleased to be charged for use of the showers but actually 2 minutes for 20p is all you need. They're a nice temperature and there's lots of room so it was a nice experience. We did book to stay on the family site but because we were 3 adults, we got told to stay on the adult site. The reason I booked the family friendly site was because I had an early start for a 100km trek the next day and was worried about the noise of other guests. I thought it might be quieter on that site but actually it was fine as the whole place was peaceful anyway, even though there were people having a drink and a chat - it was all very civilised. The lady behind the desk was welcoming; we were about 6 minutes late for final check in and phoned to say we would be late so she said she would keep the gates open. She was friendly on our arrival. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed Friday to Sunday during a heatwave and we couldn’t fault the place. The farm was perfectly located inbetween Bakewell and Buxton, facilities were perfectly clean and the little extras such as hireable fire pits topped it off! We had pizza one night and breakfast another, both were so easy to order and delicious. Staff were hospitable, even let us borrow two towels as we forgot ours at home! Would 100% recommend and will be returning in the near future!

We stayed there as I was we were looking for somewhere close to the Tissington Trail and also the walking round Longnor. The site is easy to find by satnav and well laid out with all of the amenities being in the centre of the various camping fields. There were four fields in total of varying flatness (and hilliness) but we managed to find a flat spot (however note to campervan owners is that levelling ramps will likely be needed). The views are pretty spectacular. The amenities were good. Toilets and showers were clean and there were plenty of both. It was also possible to park next to the shower block if you're feeling particularly lazy! The owners were friendly and there were no problems with checking in. They also do take away pizzas which I didn't have but plenty of others did. I think they did breakfasts too but, again, I didn't bother. Plenty of pubs local but its either a long(ish) walk or cycle. The pub in Monyash is particularly popular. The area itself is fantastic with lots to do. I recommend the Magpie Mine which is a free attraction very close and really worth an hour of your time. In summary - very recommended.
