Super site. Basic, but that's all we wanted. Great location for our favourite places. Really helpful owners. Compost loos ok...not as scary as I thought!

A great little site, beautifully clean, fabulous hot showers, £1 for 5 minutes, and long drop composting toilets, clean and no smell. Fire pits and bags of wood can be ordered in advance and dropped at your pitch. 15 minute walk to South Milton sands and short drive to Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Also possible to order supermarket delivery. Campsite quiet by 10.30pm, plenty of space for kids to play, and fridges and freezers to keep things cool plus USB phone charging points. Anita is always on hand if you need anything, we had a fabulous 4 night stay.

Excellent pop up camping site. We were apprehensive over the composting loos as it was our first time using them, but our concerns were unfounded, and it was impeccably clean and well maintained. Incredibly friendly and first class.
Wonderfully organised campsite

Great stay, Anita thinks of everything! Great pre-departure information on just about everything you need. We needed a mechanic as our van's battery ran flat and contact details were in the email and on the noticeboard! 2 hours later we were on our way! Lovely pitches overlooking countryside and great amenities Wonderfully well organised, will definitely be back! Thank you.

Lovely eco camp with good showers and lots of fridge and freezer space to store food and ice packs. Toilets were slightly smelly due to the heatwave but kept clean. Remember you will need a pound to have a shower and 20p to wash up. The pitch was on a slope. There is a dog walk to the lovely beach via a public footpath which was not that well maintained, but otherwise you can walk via the lane to the beach (though that can be busy with cars).
Site's response
Thank you for your lovely review. Just to clarify that the public footpath to the beach is through the nature reserve and owned and maintained by the local bird watching society. It is meant to be a wildlife area and so they deliberately leave it to go wild, to encourage the birds and other wildlife including deer. Anyone reading this who is tempted to go that way must be aware that dogs are not allowed via this route as per the signs.

The location is perfect. Generous pitches and not crammed in at all. Showers are really hot, toilets take some getting used to but not as bad as I anticipated. Unexpected bonus to have fridges and freezers to use. Very quiet site and everyone seemed to respect other users. Would definitely come again.

Fantastic location with easy access to the beach. Lovely, clean site
Site's response
Thank you for taking a moment to review our campsite and I am delighted that you said the location was fantastic and that it was lovely and clean. We work hard to try to maintain the cleanliness. Our pricing is inline with other campsites in the South Hams area and the facilities we can offer are restricted as we are a pop-up site and governed by local council planning regulations.
Enjoyable relaxing break

What a lovely little site, very relaxing and you feel at one with nature. Lovely surrounding walks to be had, showers were nice and hot and we never had to queue. Ok, so it's 20p a minute, but what's a pound for a shower - the place has got to make money. Anita, the owner, made us feel welcome, and was always up for a chat. Will we be back, hell yeah - can't wait. Say hello to our friends on pitch 12 lovely group of people, see you soon x

Lovely campsite overall, stunning views and location. Compost toilets are what you would expect, smell a little but are as nice as possible! Great to have fridges, freezers and washing up stations. Very hard ground so was really hard to pitch the tent. Really great overall though, would definitely go back.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review our site! Yes, the ground is terribly hard at the moment but unfortunately we haven't had any rain in months which we appreciate makes pitching a tent tricky :(

We stayed here for a week with our grandchildren and had the most fantastic holiday. The facilities at South Devon are spot on, lovely hot showers and clean toilets. Our grandkids made loads of friends playing on the field. They are asking when we are going again. The host is a lovely lady, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Only short drive from some amazing places, would definitely recommend Bigbury Beach, and Salcombe for a day with lovely shops and restaurants. The local beach is beautiful and only a 10 minute walk with a lovely café, We will definitely be going back next year. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday 👍👍

We had a wonderful few days at South Devon Camping. We stayed in the main field and had beautiful views over the valley from pitch 14. The eco loos were clean with fresh flowers in them, plenty of fridges and freezers to use and decent showers - just remember your 20ps! Martin and Anita were really friendly and on hand to help when one of the showers didn't work and were very kind to let our son check out the tractors at work one day. We had initially been allocated a pitch in the Garden field which didn't seem as picturesque nor as peaceful as the main field, but they were kind enough to move us with no issue. Would definitely return.

Good basic camping. No showers in the garden field and one loo but seemed ok, and a short walk to the showers. Only downside for us there were a lot of of noisy dogs. Nice short walk to the beach.
Site's response
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to review our site and for leaving some positive feedback. We are sorry to hear that fellow campers had some noisy dogs. You are correct that there are no showers in Garden Field. This is because there is no power in that site to operate the showers, but guests are informed about this when they book. We hope that you have a lovely summer and that one day you will return to the lovely South Hams!
