Very relaxed atmosphere about the place. Easy to find a pitch and parking on a very tidy site which is nicely tucked away. We pulled onto the site and saw the signs to find a pitch which we did easily. No one bothered us for the stay so I'm guessing they just go on the car registration. It was a nice clean site with plenty of space and very little noise as it was off the beaten track, but not too far off if you wanted to nip into town. I will be using the site again.

The views are beautiful but that's the only good bit in my opinion. We were told the food van would be open from 5pm to 7pm and 7am to 9am, but it didn't open at all. There was nobody around to talk to and because the van should've been open, we didn't take any food etc. The van was also the place to buy wood and a grill to cook on and also to book breakfast and to feed the animals the next morning, none of this was available. The toilet/shower block was built from wood and leaked when it rained, very poorly run. We were told the van wouldn't open if there were less than 15 campers but we counted 27, not a happy camper here and will not be returning.

Beautiful spot. Easy walk in to Sedbergh. Surrounded by amazing walks. Tidy campsite, wc and showers cleaned.
Good for the price but...

The campsite itself was well situated, but upon arrival it was very unclear where the 'secluded' section actually was. In the end, the secluded sections were not that secluded at all. We tried many times to no avail to contact the site owners (with the number they gave) but there was no answer. We spoke with other groups and they had the same problem - no communication. The toilets were OK, but when flushed some of the toilet water would come out onto the floor... The showers were OK but I would advise that you wait a while til they are warm. The animal feeding was also only available during the last few days, as was the hot food van. I would ensure to bring a car with you, and fire pits are also not at every pitch. For the price, the place is great, just expect a spot in a field with some toilets, running water and hot shower, but don't believe all these supposed extras.

This was our first visit and first proper venture 'off grid' without any hook up etc. If you're expecting 'Park' like facilities & pitches, this is not for you. We were blessed with decent weather which always makes things better, and blessed with a really quiet site, as we went Mon-Th. We could imagine if busy, it could get a little noisy, but we had blissful peace & quiet. You get 360 degree views of some of the most stunning countryside & Fells, that are just beautiful, and a 10 min walk in Sedburgh where you can get all you need. The two guys running it, Brian & Baz, are superb and only want you to enjoy, and the plans they have for the site are excellent. I read another review about the price of a bag of wood, but I cannot complain. What I didn't know, and maybe should be made more obvious, is that the money goes to a Ex Military Charity, which is excellent. One tip I would give if you are in a camper/motorhome is you are VERY likely to need levellers. Forewarned. There are loos (portaloos) in every field, but there are also porcelain loos as you enter the site (2 at the moment), which also have showers in them. Basic, but do the job. Overall absolutely loved our stay, as we got the best of both worlds, quiet site & great weather.... Couple of minor niggles (which I am sure the guys are addressing) such as the portaloos were not emptied/cleaned till the Wed (after a busy weekend), so after a few hot days.... When we left on the Thurs, the bins had not been emptied since the previous weekend (we took a big bag home with us as hate just leaving it on the side). This 'could' create a vermin problem, and as they are at the entrance, it doesn't create a great impression. All minor niggles on what was a great 3 nights, and a site we will return to - Thank you!

Very nice campsite with the river for dipping around the corner. The site has plenty of space so you can find a nice spot. The shower and hot water facilities were limited but were available and they were fine. The campsite is well organised yet not without disruptions. There was quite a bit of loud music played till about 9 pm, which made putting our little children to sleep hard, but it was still following 10pm quiet hour rule. We had a fantastic stay.

Big space but very crowded with people making a lot of noise. Toilet paper ran out and seemed as if it was never refilled. Wood for fire was available if paid for. Toilets and showers were very rudimentary. The river was close to the campsite and you could see the lovely hills around.
Site's response
There was 13 acres of camping open on the weekend of your visit with 56 campers to spread out in. Campers are given the freedom to select their own pitch. It is a choice whether to pitch next to other groups. In your welcome pack it contained my phone number, and a request to call me if you had any issues - I never received a call all weekend regarding either the noise or the toilets. We were made aware of a group that made a noise on Saturday morning and we spoke to them, they apologised to their neighbours and there wasn't a problem thereafter. The toilets are cleaned twice daily and re-stocked with toilet roll. Where we get large groups congregating around a couple of toilets, the toilets can become overwhelmed, but it is no more than a 150 metre walk to a further 6 toilets. There is an intimation that wood for campfires shouldn't be paid for...? We provide fire pits free of charge, we deliver the wood to your pitch and we charge £8 for enough hardwood for the whole evening + sticks + firelighters.

The staff on the site were super friendly and helpful. The kids loved the whole experience with the animals. Food was great quality and lovely surrounding. However, only one shower was working on the jubilee weekend with a full campsite, and toilets were constantly blocked.
Fantastic family fun

Had a great time with 4 days on site... With the animals to feed and the village being very close we had a good relaxing time and definitely will visit again. The only minor fault was a lack of signage for the water taps and toilet drainage, but that's it 😁

Campsite is in a great location with walks right on its doorstep, along with the river right next to it. Local shop is short walk and Sedbergh town centre is also a short walk too, where you can find a selection of restaurants, shops and pubs. The campsite pitch up is very basic, and you can enjoy the quiet scenery and the farm animals. There are a good amount of portaloos scattered around the fields that are cleaned daily and always with toilet paper, along with plenty drinking water taps. There are two porcelain toilets located at entrance to field, and in them is the two shower units that are good enough for camping. The staff are very friendly and will talk and offer advice etc, but do not intrude if you are just chilling. Overall a great time had, and will stay again.
Great, friendly site!

Great site, very close to the town centre with lovely views around the area from most pitches. We'll definitely be staying here again. Only down side was the on-site food, we ordered a bacon sandwich the night before for 9am delivery. It was £5 per sandwich and came in a dry bun, no butter, no sauce and was burnt.

The site was nice, with plenty of space around the pitch. It's listed as having showers, but these were out of order - and even if they weren't, it was a just shower head hung on the wall, not a proper shower cubicle. However we were informed that planning has just been granted for proper facilities so hopefully they're on the way soon. The toilets are currently portable loos. The van that's advertised to be on site for meals was away at a show this weekend so the owner took our orders for sandwiches to be made and brought to site the following morning. This was convenient but it was £5 per sausage sandwich 😬 Pitches have their own firepits which is good! Bags of logs for sale at £8 each so would advise buying from the local shop for less.
Great site with beautiful views

The location was great, the views were stunning. Seeing the animals was a highlight. Only 4 stars as the showers are not fully private. There are gaps in the wood and I noticed people were always walking next to the showers to look at the shower tank to figure out how it worked or to see if someone was in there. Because of this I did not use the showers.

Clean and quiet site with friendly staff, plenty of space to pitch up, and within walking distance of shops and pubs. Kids loved having lambs, sheep, pigs and calves all onsite, especially getting to feed the lambs and calves. Overall, a superb site. Highly recommend and would definitely use this site again.

The campsite was really nice, well located and the facilities were really good (such as the on-site kitchen van). The on-site toilets were really clean too. However the only downside was that the portaloos weren't great, maybe it was because of it being bank holiday weekend, but you couldn't even use them they were that bad. I would definitely visit this campsite again!

Well thought out site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the animal encounters. Well situated to explore the area. Great food van onsite, as well as plenty of firepits to hire. Great for families and dog friendly. There's a spa shop about 10 min walk. Beautiful views. Plenty of room for tents, campervans, motorhomes, and caravans. The only one downside is they could maybe do with more toilets and showers. I would definitely recommend this site and will be using it again.

Sometimes it's just nice to go back to basics! A perfect location, quiet atmosphere and a working shower and toilet block. You can even feed and cuddle the lambs, what more could you want!
