The Masons Arms campsite is peacefully set overlooking open fields by a thatched pub. It's dog friendly with electric and non electric grass pitches for the summer and a large hardstanding area open all year. Many larger pitches too, all close to excellent facilities, great pub food with breakfasts also available. For glampers, a romantic ensuite shepherd's hut is the icing on the cake.

About The Masons Arms

The peaceful rural setting makes this an ideal spot for a getaway and the pub is situated in the heart of Somerset with access to many National Trust and English Heritage properties. There are five hardstanding pitches, all with electric hook-up which allow the site to open all year round and there are seven electric hook-up points on the field. You'll be treated to pitches that are a minimum size of 8 x 9m but many are larger. It's worth knowing that some are part sloping on the grass field. There is also a luxurious shepherd's hut with its own garden and brick built BBQ area. It offers a beautifully decorated interior with the luxury of an ensuite loo and wash basin (access to shared showers nearby). Inside your little haven, bedding and towels are provided as well as tea and coffee making facilities and a sumptuous breakfast in the pub included in the price. It has underfloor heating and a log burner - so it's cosy all year round. There are also a set of four star ensuite letting rooms available. If you don't want to travel far then this makes a great place to just hang out and enjoy the benefits of a traditional village pub in lovely Somerset surroundings.

The grass pitches are available from April until the end of September. Hardstanding pitches are available all year round.

A note from the site themselves...

Since I can remember, I have always dreamed of running my own campsite. Over many years, I gained experience running country hotels and restaurants, until finally, we were fortunate enough to have a place of our own.

We have to send a huge thanks to all of the locals for their overwhelming support and warm welcome. They have very much helped us to settle in and feel welcome since we arrived.

We aim for everyone to have the best experience possible, from the delicious creations in our kitchen to the attention to customer service from our friendly front-of-house team, to the wonderful work of our cleaning team. Myself and the team hope to welcome you soon and will be more than happy to pull you a cold pint after your journey, Rosemary

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesJul 2024

We found the Masons Arms through a quick Google search which led us to Campsites.co.uk. We chose it because it was equidistant between our previous stop and our next destination. We could not have been more delighted with the location in a chocolate box village and on the site of a charming thatched pub. The pub had Badger real ales and a good dinner menu and an excellent breakfast - we chose muesli, fruit and yoghurt because we had not been eating healthily, but there was a good range of cooked breakfast on offer, including American-style pancakes. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless. The pub has very pleasant garden areas. We would definitely recommend this as a camping stop.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2024

Gorgeous little pub with super friendly staff and owners, customer service excellent! Good food and drinks selection, all round nice little site. Only thing is I wish the showers stayed on a bit longer, hard to wash your hair one handed!

Very handy, behind a lovely pub

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2024

An excellent stop off point for travellers with good pub grub and quiet back garden spot. Facilities are all fine. The village is very pretty, we did a nice walk to Montacute House National Trust.
