Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

Not a bad little campsite. Has a little shop, café, showers etc. We climbed Old Man of Coniston, which wasn't far, about 20 minutes. We also drove to Bowness on Windermere one day and got the boat to Ambleside, which was nice.

Stunning location

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

This lovely site has a beautiful location but it's easy to miss the entrance. Look for the Cumbrian Horses sign. Don't be put off by the steep road, the site is there in a stunning valley part way up the hillside. A lovely stream runs through the site and we were treated to watching a heron often waiting in the water. This is a working farm with sheep and horses in fields. Jamie, who was very welcoming, came to see us just after we drove up and gave us lots of information about the site and area. It was superb to be able to light fires at night and sit around the firepit. Each evening bags of dried logs were brought round for sale if required. The toilets and showers were quite basic but were cleaned each day and showers were hot. There is a farm shop and café providing food and meals (I cannot comment on this as we did our own cooking. The site attendants, who live on site, were friendly and gave us advice and local knowledge. We were given a warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. There are many main attractions just a few minutes drive away. The site suits all types of groups, families, friends, couples and also is great for young children. They are dog friendly which suited us very well. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed at this campsite with our rooftop tent. We loved the warm welcome and the fact that we could pick a location together with the owner. We had lots of privacy, met very nice people when we borrowed a can opener and the location is absolutely stunning. The facilities (toilet, shower and dishwashing) were great, spacious and clean. The one thing we didn't like were the scones from the cafe, we both managed just one bite. Overall, great experience and we'd come back again in a heartbeat (in combination with Broughton Village bakery though). We keep looking back at our pictures of this beautiful spot!

Small Tent - Streamside Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

Lovely spot to stay, out of the way of the busier areas of the Lakes, but still some beautiful scenery, walks and places to visit. A great site, lovely to have a fire outside the tent and sit by the stream.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

Baystone is a lovely family run campsite, the owners were very helpful. Each pitch has its own fire pit which is a great idea and I like the big mat they provided to put outside the tent. There is lots of walking trails to do around the site. We enjoyed our stay it was very peaceful with great views 🤗

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

Unfortunately, we didn't have the best weather but tried to make the most of our stay. The site is basic, but has everything you need including a little café with lovely friendly staff. Location was lovely but a little hard to walk on the roads as no footpaths, so we drove to the beach for our walks. The views were lovely and the site had a little stream that I had a little dip in. Lovely stay.

Beautiful little site

Medium Tent - Streamside Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2024

An absolutely beautiful little campsite nestled at the foot of the mountains. Not too far from the beach or lakes and peaks. Lovely staff. Had to share the field with sheep and their lambs which made the experience all the more magical. Some stunning short walks all in the vicinity of the camp. A picturesque little brook runs right through the middle. With yurts, bell tents and wigwam pods to electric hookups and non-electric pitches, this campsite has everything you need. Also, the pizza place in Millom is perfect for those long days when you really can't be bothered to cook.

Great stay, friendly staff

Lovely stay, pitch was quite waterlogged but staff did their best to accommodate and to make sure we could pitch. Very helpful friendly staff, especially as we arrived later than anticipated. Campsite beautifully situated, cooked and ate breakfast next to the stream when the sun was shining! Would definitely stay again.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMar 2024

This site was really comfortable. Nicely laid out and very convenient for touring the Lakes. We were two adults with two border collies, so there's plenty of room for exercising the dogs. It's lovely to see the livestock on the farm and be in those surroundings where it's quiet. Everyone was really kind and helpful. A well stocked shop is a plus. We are certainly coming back for a longer stay.

Rolling hills and a babbling brook!

Decent little site with a small on site café and small shop. Not too far away from the beach and/or local town for groceries etc. On site showers and toilets, nice and clean and the pitches are worth the money.
