Eden Valley Glamping is a small site based in the beautiful Eden Valley, offering guests a chance to engage with the great outdoors from a cosy, furnished glamping pod or replica railway carriage with an ensuite and access to the on-site sauna. It will appeal to couples and families or small groups looking to relax around a campfire. A 20 minute drive takes you to either Carlisle or the lovely North Pennines. Open year round and dog friendly.

About the site
A break at this glamping retreat offers guests a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and maybe have a digital detox. The Eden Valley is the lowest population density area in England. Sandwiched between the hills of the Lake District and the Pennine Fells, it's one of Cumbria's best kept secrets with its magnificent scenery and abundant plant, insect bird and animal life. Visitors naturally slow down when they visit and begin to appreciate their surroundings and notice details that had passed them by previously. The pods take their names from the Pennine Fells - Croglin, Melmerby and Cross Fell - and each ensuite pod offers guests an all year round warm, luxurious space. The pods are few in number (no more than three) and as far apart as practical to allow guests to have their own space. Inside there are cooking facilities, your ensuite shower and toilet, and comfy beds. Outside is a fire pit. The large camp kitchen offers a communal space to relax with other guests. Melmerby and Croglin each sleep up to four people, however Cross Fell pod can sleep up to five people. There is also the chance to stay in the Henrietta Train Carriage! This replica train carriage sleeps two and comes equipped with a double bed, kitchen area and ensuite bathroom! Outside there is also a firepit and seating area. In all matters, the ethos of slower, simpler, deeper is what counts here. The aim is for guests to experience the Eden Valley in a deeper way and take away some great lasting memories of their experiences and those they shared them with. Up to two dogs can even join you in Cross Fell and Croglin Pods.

Cross Fell Ensuite Glamping Pod (Dog Friendly)

Luxury pod with full-sized bunk beds, a double sofa bed and a small single chair bed. Includes an ensuite shower, toilet, cooking facilities and outside fire pit. Bedding double sofa bed only included. Pets allowed.
Henrietta Train Carriage
Max 2 people
A replica train carriage with a double bed and bedding provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen area, ensuite bathroom and a wood burning stove. Outside there is a firepit and seating area. Sorry, no dogs are allowed.

Such lovely hosts. Me and my partner spent 2 nights in one of the cabins, we really felt at home. Dave was incredibly friendly and even went out of his way to give us a lift from and to the train station as we don't have a car. The level of care and attention to detail put into the cabin when we arrived really showed how passionate the owners are to ensuring all our needs were met. Will be coming again. :)

Staying at Eden Valley Glamping was a fantastic experience. Thank you Liz and David for an amazingly comfortable pod in a location that was tranquil and very satisfying. We also want to say thank you for the milk and little, thoughtful things that made our stay so wonderful. We had a fun game of Boules and Ten pin bowling in the outdoor area. We didn't have time to enjoy the big kitchen, but we fully intend to on our next visit. We had 2 glorious days exploring the monuments, castle and cathedral in Carlisle, which are all magnificent and a must see. We also went on a steam engine ride in South Tynedale railway and that was exciting and fun. Our evenings were spent sitting in front of the fire pit, cooking outdoors and stargazing. What an amazing time we had! Highly recommended.
