Large Tent - Grass Tent PitchesAug 2024

My wife and I (and our Cocker Spaniel) are experienced all weather campers who are more than happy to go off grid. Dan y Ser is small but perfectly formed and is in a stunningly beautiful location just a few minutes drive from the rather nice mid-Wales market town of Llanidloes. Our camping pitch was flat and ample enough for our large tent and event shelter (for cooking), with uninterrupted views and served by its own picnic bench and fire pit. We liked the Greener camping credentials of the site which includes a composting toilet. Also the "Summer House" with fridge and electric kettle. Jessamy, the site host, should be commended on bringing this lovely and peaceful adult only site into being and we would have no hesitation in recommending.

Small Tent - Grass Tent PitchesJul 2024

We loved camping here and were met at the campsite by the owner who was very friendly and helpful. There was a useful sun house, with a fridge and kettle and food storage. The toilet was a compost toilet but it was clean and functional. The view from the campsite was great but no stars that night due to cloud cover! Very quiet as well! In my honest opinion, the site would benefit from a sign on the roadside indicating the entrances to the campsite.

Brilliant Host and great views

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding With Grass Campervan PitchesJun 2024

Wanted a small site, with facilities for one night near the Elan Village visitor centre, it delivered. Very new site, so sadly signage wasn't clear and had to phone to check we were in the right place. Can't imagine you'd get many on the site, which is handy given that there is only one unisex toilet and shower. Bell tents tucked at the bottom of the field looked very good, with hot tub and barbecue facilities. But glad we had the van so we could park at the top and had a fantastic view, with the only sounds being the nearby sheep. Sadly didn't have the opportunity to meet the host. Despite the facilities available and the peaceful location, I felt this site was over-priced for the quality of the ground at the site and absence of the host.

Site's response

Thank you for staying with us at Dan Y Ser Glamping, delighted you enjoyed the views and peace and quiet of our boutique site. Apologies we did not get to meet, we do farm and the later afternoon/evening was spent sorting sheep unfortunately. We do hope you will come back in future where we will make sure we are on site to meet you.

Peace and quiet

Bell Tent - Luxury Stargazing Glamping - Seren Hardd with Hot TubMay 2024

Beautiful location, ideal for a peaceful get away from it all break. We were met by Jess our hostess who was very friendly as she showed us around. Our bell tent was furnished beautifully and very clean and comfortable. The finishing touches of chocolate and craft gins with tonic were a lovely surprise. The shower and composting toilet were spotless and the hot tub was heated ready to use for when we arrived. I would advise people to be mindful of the ground around the tent, hot tub and kitchen areas. It was very uneven and laid over with lots of broken slates which were a bit unstable when walked on. Luckily we had no rain but can imagine that it could be very slippery/muddy when wet. The gas barbecue was not the best (don't forget to take a lighter). It took so long to boil a kettle it was quicker to go into the nearest town to get coffee.

Site's response

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us at Dan Y Ser Glamping and loved the chocolates and gin. As we are a brand new site and have had the worst weather imaginable we are growing, adapting and adding finishing touches. We appreciate your comments and have now added four gas burner stoves in the kitchens and added turf where unfortunately the grass hasn't grown yet. We hope you will come back in the future to stay with us and enjoy the peace, quiet and stargazing.
