Hook Farm Campsite is family run and located in a beautiful valley, perfect for families with young children with a back to basics experience and a little woodland in the centre of the campsite for children to explore and play. There are just a couple of handfuls of non electric grass pitches, perfect for a back to basics camping experience. Visit the nearby Bluebell Railway or the stunning Wakehurst House.

Ridiculously spacious, there weren't even really any pitches at all, just a few fields surrounded by woodland where you could pitch wherever. Very quiet, all I could hear at night were owls, and very serene. Would recommend to those who are not put off by composting loos.

This is such a good spot, almost want to keep to myself. It's such a good place for families and small groups and dog friendly. Staff so friendly and nice. Will be coming back.

Really friendly campsite with great views. Excellent place for kids to explore and also a peaceful break. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Shower and toilet facilities very clean and you can buy logs and kindling on site. The only downside for us was that the site is quite sloping, which didn't make for a good night's sleep. It would be great if there were more levelled out pitches. Apart from that, it was a really good site.

Recommended! But pack earplugs in case you are unlucky! We had a large group roll in next to what we hoped was our quiet spot and they proceeded to party until 4:15am! It was crazy. Normal volume so they were in rules, but still kept my whole group wide awake. Had I packed ear plugs, wouldn't have been an issue. The campsite is fantastic and look forward to going again.

Lovely spot. Really relaxed and good showers and toilets. Really easy to have a campfire (they supply wood and firefighters) which the kids love.

Wonderful campsite, lovely setting, lots of space, just huge shame about our neighbouring tent. Group of 4 blokes who returned at 11:30pm, lit fire, sat around until gone 2am talking and joking loudly. It spoilt the night but otherwise, it was a great stay.

Stayed here for one night in July. It wasn't overcrowded and as it's non-electric, it was really peaceful shortly after dark. Great local pub just 5 mins walk away, but make sure you book in advance if going there on the weekend as it was fully booked when we were there.

Beautiful campsite set within rolling hills and tall trees. Plenty of space, freedom to choose where to pitch. Safe for children to play in woods and fields. Clean compostable toilets, clean showers. Fires and BBQs allowed off the ground. Very much enjoyed the views sunshine, peace and back to basics camping.

We had a great stay at Hook Farm. The site is beautiful, toilets are kept really clean and stocked with a lot of loo roll. There was good access to water. The staff are really nice and the atmosphere was great. You are allowed to have fires and the site is dog friendly too. Will definitely be back.

We loved it here! The view was lovely and it was so spacious so we weren't crazy close to anyone, like at other campsites. The compost toilets were a surprised as I expected smelly and dirty, but they weren't bad at all and we saw they were checked and restocked throughout the day. We loved the little shop where we could buy fire wood and marshmallows.

Enchanting little village in the heart of Sussex. Amazing lushous green space. Bit hilly, but still lots of flatter areas but we were not bothered by this. Dog friendly. Clean facilities. Portaloos were cleaned twice per day. Check in and check out is easy. Staff are friendly.

Beautiful views and lots of space to choose from. It's quite hilly and sometimes difficult to find a flat spot, but we managed to find one. Many toilets so you don't have to walk far no matter where you camp. Showers with warm water and clean. They are located by the entrance, so if you camp far down it will be a bit of a walk. Owners greeted us and thanked for visit which was nice. Nice two pubs in the area - The Cat Inn and Fox in the village nearby.

Beautiful location, very remote and very quiet. Only a 5 minute walk to the local pub, The Cat, which do the best roast dinner we've ever had. Owners of the site are incredibly friendly and will help you out should you need it. You can purchase logs and kindling from the site for a campfire. Morning views are stunning over the trees. Definitely will return. Thank you!

Really friendly and a great location to get away with a tent for a night or two. Wood provided for a fire (for a small fee) and a few toilets dotted about, so you are never far away from one. We will definitely be back and our 5 year old loved it.
