Bell Tent - Bell TentsJul 2023

Although there was a booking hiccup, we were welcomed with a smile and had a really fantastic time at this campsite. Simple, clean and friendly; what more can you ask? We even spotted six deer in the next field. As it was rainy, we did a 'pub crawl' of both Staplefield pubs. They were both great and we had a delicious meal. The 'breakfast pop-up cafe' was also extremely welcome. My daughter said it was the best cinnamon roll she's ever had. Thank you. We will be back.

Really enjoyable stay

We stayed here with some friends and had a really lovely relaxing time. The children had great fun running free in the wooded play area, and as the campsite is one field it is easy to keep track of them. The staff were very friendly and the facilities good-composting loos, washing facilities and best of all an outdoor kitchen with communal herbs. Lovely views of a field of horses!

Absoloutely lovely!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2023

We went with a group for a camping trip overnight for my birthday. The campsite was so lovely, the facilities simple but great, and very clean. Don't need anything more. You can rent little fire pits to have with your tent or go to the communal fire pit. They had live music at sunset which was wonderful, it was great to hang out with everyone around, it had such a lovely community vibe. Will definitely recommend and visit again!

We had a disappointing weekend at Sunset Tree Camping. When we arrived, we had to shovel cow pats to clear a space for our tent - the field was absolutely covered in it. This was not really how I wanted to spend my Friday night. We then learned that the promised shower wasn't yet ready. You can't drive your car to your pitch, so you have to wheelbarrow everything across (dodging the cowpats). Then, as the final straw, we were told that we have to move our car to another field a ten minute walk away (and bizarrely this was a much nicer field - no cow poo and less road noise, so the cars had a better place to stay than the humans). There were also no fire pits by the pitches - just small "fire bowls" that were no use for cooking. The plus side was a nice play area for children at one end of the field, but for us that didn't make up for the downsides. This was, unfortunately, the worst site we have stayed at.

Hi, I'm genuinely saddened that you didn't have the experience you'd hoped for. This is the first bad review we've ever had in 3 years and I'm really sorry you've felt compelled to write it. In answer to some of your issues I can answer (if it helps you understand). This review has only just come through but it looks like you visited on our opening weekend back at the start of July. The shower was a little late in being finished but was available for use from Saturday afternoon I think. We wanted to ensure fully safe operation before allowing guests to use it. This meant that the final sealing around the shower tray and walls was finished and then the whole unit checked and signed off by a plumber. The car park situation is fully explained in the email sent on booking and again in the pre arrival email. We always discuss this with guests (it's not 10min walk, it's 200m) and allow those with mobility issues to leave car in our drop off car park. I acknowledge it's not ideal and we are looking at alternative solutions for the car park situation. The reason we have a separate car park is because the field isn't the largest, so to allow for more space for everyone to run around, we park cars elsewhere. This is also the same for not allowing cars to drive across the field. It makes the field safer and preserves the grass, so whether we have a wet or dry season, we always have lush green grass to camp on. I take your point about cow pats. The weather leading up to opening wasn't on our side and we were not able to remove them all before opening, we did however offer to come and move them for you and in fact, we carried on working through the weekend to get them all cleared, so by the time we opened the following weekend, all had been removed. All points aside, I'm really sorry you didn't have a nice time and these issues got in the way of your enjoyment. Adds.

Beautiful spot with amazing team

Thank goodness there were no wasps or pylons to ruin our perfect weekend. The fireside communal area is divine and the bell tent was perfectly equipped. A big shout out to everyone who made our weekend so memorable:)

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2022

We recently stayed at Sunset Tree for 2 nights. It is a great place to go and relax. The campsite is only a short walk to 2 pubs. The campsite has a great community spirit, there is a communal fire at night which you can sit around and meet other campers, or you can have your own fire. The campsite allows music (as long as it's turned off by 12am and doesn't disturb those close to you) which is great. On site, there is a place to buy pizza and hot drinks. It is a small field but there is a lot of space as they don't overbook. The toilets were kept clean. There is a place to have a cold shower. The staff are very friendly.

Lovely relaxed campsite

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2022

This is a very relaxed and relaxing campsite, run by very nice people. It is low-tech (off-grid, very well-maintained compost toilets, no hot shower) so if that's not for you, avoid. But it's got a delightful atmosphere, lots of community spirit, and is very welcoming. Pitch where you like, kids run around in the woods, a communal camp fire, and a very nice food truck selling pizza and coffee. The spot is beautiful and it suits kids brilliantly. It's also small, and I liked not having to walk too far for washing up or toilet. Would definitely recommend, if you're up for something a bit more low-key and friendly than your usual fare.

What a wonderful place!

The place is ideal to camp with children, with a little area adapted for them and without the worries of cars onsite. The owners are super lovely and they are always happy to help. On top of that, on the day we camped, we had unexpected live music in the woods. All for the price! Super good vibe and totally recommended.

Bell Tent - Bell TentsJul 2022

This was mine and my partners first camping experience together and we absolutely loved it. The bell tent was spacious, clean and well presented with some lovely finishing touches - the fairy lights which made it really cosy. We were greeted by the owner who fetched us some fire wood and made sure we were ok and happy. The campsite was nice and quiet and clean. All facilities there that you needed, with perfect views and scenery. Will definitely be heading back, this time for longer :-)

Amazing camp site and hosts. The place is really cool with lovely facilities and an amazing atmosphere. There is also a pizza van on site!! It's no fuss and so laid back which allows you to really enjoy the setting, scenery and camping. Literally perfect for all kinds of groups. Cool little area with a pub down the road and a shop 2 mins away in the car. Dogs are FREE and welcome (he had a great time too). We have already booked another stay later this month.
