About Barnutopia

This picturesque site is located in Shropshire, England, right on the border with Powys, Wales. You can stand with one foot in each country. There are views in every direction and public footpaths and bridleways surrounding the site. The ex-farm setup is appealing and practical. There are six grass pitches for tents only, measuring a spacious 10m x 10m and allowing up to four people each. These are unallocated so guests can choose where they pitch upon arrival, and fire pits are available for free upon request. The glamping village includes ten furnished yurts, cabins, stable and bunkhouse, perfect for a family getaway. Three camp kitchens onsite are equipped with everything you need to prepare, cook and eat food. All of the glamping units are fully furnished with real beds, linen, power, heating and lighting. The smallest takes three people and the largest sleeps ten, so there really is something for all groups. The heated accommodation makes Barnutopia perfect for a glamping getaway at any time of year, and the indoor/outdoor Dutch barn allows for campfires even if the weather is poor. Breakfast is available to order if desired. Campfires are encouraged and logs are provided for glampers. Whole site bookings are accepted. Come back and sit around a campfire toasting marshmallows. Perfect for individuals, couples, families, larger groups and events. A maximum of three dogs are allowed per unit, just please keep them on the lead.

Open from 1 January to 14 November

A note from the site themselves...

I am Mrs B at Barnutopia, also known as Katrina. Born and raised in Llangollen, Wales, I spent twenty years or so living in Russia, France and the United States. I returned to Britain in 2014 and set up Barnutopia, after being inspired by the yurts my kids had stayed in on school trips in the US.

The three original Mongolian yurts are long since gone and replaced with far more practical wooden octayurts and cabins. Our returning guests (we have lots) love them even more than the canvas structures. Since 2015 the site has gone from strength to strength.

We are always looking for small improvements and experiences for our guests and recently added Ben and Jerry, two miniature Hereford bullocks. Come and visit us soon!
