Perfect weekend

What a fantastic place for a weekend break, pods placed in private so you can have privacy with hot tubs and fire pits. Definitely recommend this place. Everything you need for a perfect weekend

Lovely relaxing space - hot tub worth the extra!

A really lovely spot, with very few people on site (a real plus!) as there are only six cabins scattered generously, and each hidden from each other. The hot tub was amazing, and the fire pit etc was very well thought out. Really useful honesty shed with things you may have forgotten. Clare and Steve were wonderful hosts, and made everything super easy. Kitchen was useable, everything was spotless, and the whole thing was a super break. NB: two nights won't feel like enough... A couple of things to note - there was no sharp knife in the kitchen, nor a veg peeler, both of which we'd wished we'd had. Bed was quite hard so if you can bring a mattress topper, that would improve your stay, but the location, the friendliness of the hosts, the tranquillity, and the ambience were wonderful.

We use the current mattresses as they are washable and we can guarantee they are spotless for every booking. They were also invaluable during Covid. Perfect pods, perfect site, perfect hosts!

Claire and Steve were the perfect hosts, welcoming, warm and thoughtful. We visited for a short break to continue my wife's 40th Birthday celebrations and we all had the best time. The site is beautiful with the pods nestled amidst ancient trees, laid out perfectly offering plenty of privacy. The wood burning hot tub was exactly what was called for. The pod we stayed in was clean, as were the facilities. Overall, an exceptional experience for first time glampers - we love our campervan, but this was just perfect. Thank you again C & S - super hosts! We couldn't have asked for a better time.

Beautiful place

Beautiful place. Friendly owners. Cabins are well equipped and kept clean and tidy. Definitely worth visiting. It's also very quiet and at night, all you can hear is wildlife.

Beautiful site

Gorgeous place, me and my partner came here for our 11th anniversary. Owners were lovely and so helpful, facilities were clean and well-appointed. Everything worked wonderfully and we enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub - we ordered 2 lots of kindling and we had plenty to use for 2 evenings. The Wigwam was surprisingly spacious, with an ensuite bathroom and small kitchen area as well as seating inside and outside. We were lucky, as our Wigwam was secluded and there weren't too many people there, so it was nice and quiet. We would 100% return!

A lovely stay

My family loved staying here. When glamping in May, the hot tub was a highlighting feature. It rained, a lot, and we were still able to enjoy our time outside in the hot tub. Two things to note. First, the campsite is completely enclosed in by a metal fence. Considering it is Charnwood "forest", that really detracted from exploration. There is a walking path further up the road, I believe it should be featured as an option to go explore (it may have been mentioned in the welcome binder, but I did not see it). Second, the A50 is loud, much louder than I would have expected. When you are camping, and all around you is quiet save the birds, squirrels and insects - the highway is a constant buzz in the background. Other than that, this location is fabulous, the hot tub is a welcome luxury and the pods are incredibly clean and well kept. It is peaceful and very comfortable. Definitely the full "glamping" experience. Nearby Bradgate Park is an absolute must to visit. Newtown Linford is one of the most beautiful, charming little hamlets I have seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I recommend bringing a proper knife to cut and prepare food. There is provided cutlery and grilling utensils, but no knife. Slicing an onion was its own adventure.

The fence that surrounds our site is alongside neighbouring private land and the paddock field and is made of wooden posts and a wire stock fence. Both areas are are not open to the public or guests. However, the site is in woodland and is also surrounded by young and ancient woodland with a national footpath (Leicestershire Round- 100 mile circular walk) that is just 100 meters from the site. If you return again, we would love to guide where best to walk. I'm sorry you found the A50 loud. The wind and forest normally protect us from any excessive noise, maybe the wind direction was against us then. We live here and can confidently state it is not at a level that ever detracts from our enjoyment in this wonderful setting. Finally, I will look at putting a sharp knife in each cabin for future guests. Thanks again for you review and constructive comments, all of which have been noted. Fantastic Stay!

Our stay was fantastic! Clare was really accommodating & super helpful with showing us around & how the log burner for the hot tub worked. Great facilities & really spacious cabin, and the camp fire was a lovely way to spend the evening! Great location with fab pubs in the close vicinity, we drove so were able to go further afield but seemed to be a lot within walking distance too. Really peaceful surroundings.

Perfect couples getaway

Me and my partner had a really lovely time here. The owners of the site were so lovely, made us feel welcome and were always available to help. It's a really intimate and romantic site that's near a village (Bradgate) which is beautiful, with the national park, and the village has some excellent food available. Definitely would go again!

Excellent!

Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. The location is great as you're not completely out in the sticks but you're far enough out that you can see the stars. Our pod was really clean and tidy when we arrived and the hot tub was nice and hot! If you stay here, can thoroughly recommend a walk through Bradgate Park and going to the Bradgate pub for lunch.

Great place to stay

Well kept and tidy cabin. Easy to contact the friendly owners. Enough privacy around cabin but also not too secluded.

A lovely peaceful location

It was our first visit to the site, and we certainly weren't disappointed. The location is nice and peaceful and the pod was clean modern and well equipped. The owner, Clare, was very helpful and friendly and is always on hand to help with any issues. The honesty shed is a great idea for drinks and firewood etc. We will definitely visit the site again in the future.

Peace and quiet

We had a lovely stay at Wigwam Holidays Charnwood Forest! Pod was amazing. Perfect spot to hide from busy city life and enjoy nature of country side. Amazing place to refill energy! Local parks are real gem! We have spend hours walking there! Recommend to everyone who loves nature!

Perfect getaway

We have just returned from our amazing stay at Charnwood Forest and we really cannot recommend this trip enough! We stayed in the Chestnut pod which was immaculate and includes everything you need for your stay. The site is perfectly located for some pub food or a scenic walk through the Bradgate Deer. We received a warm welcome from Steve who spent the time explaining all the facilities to us and recommended places to eat or visit during our stay. We also received a lovely goodbye from Clare who took the time out of her day to have a little chat with us as we were leaving. The tiny little details about this stay really didn't go unnoticed and we will definitely be returning again in the summer. Thank you so much to Clare and Steve for their hospitality and for such an amazing weekend away!

Wonderful weekend away!

The owners are absolutely lovely! They waited for us until 7pm to welcome us on site and show how everything works. The pod, apart from being so clean, was extremely cute! The main feature, the hot tub, was incredible! Easy and fast to heat up, soooo enjoyable as hot water lasted very long! Very quiet, beautiful and romantic! Perfect for couples and for a girls trip away! Highly recommended and definitely we will be back!
