Just back from a lovely stay at this gorgeous place. Immaculately clean and very well appointed. Beautiful views and a quiet location.

Short and sweet stay

We had a great short-stay which included a walk round the farm and trips to Tunbridge Wells and Lee Miller's house in East Sussex. The facilities and the design of the hut were perfect. For privacy the, site was also screened off from the rest of the farm. We also met John the farmer who was very helpful.

A wonderful find!

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in this beautifully furnished shepherd's hut. The location was ideal, with a wonderful view out across meadows and woodland. On the evening we were there, we saw a Virgin hot air balloon drifting slowly by. We really enjoyed the peaceful setting. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, although compact as you would expect, had everything you needed. The kitchen was also well-equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. We had excellent personal communication with the owner leading up to our arrival. We would thoroughly recommend this excellent shepherd's hut.

Superb escape

Stunning little shepherds hut. Peace and tranquillity. The perfect gift. Excellent location. Pretty little garden. Delightful for a short break, and oh so clean.

Perfect stay again

We last stayed here on New Year’s Eve and everything was perfect so we wanted to check it out again in the summer sunshine and it did not disappoint. John and Tina were super helpful, responsive and welcoming yet again and provided everything we could need, including coffee, biscuits, fresh milk and board games. We also made the most of the fire pit that doubles as a BBQ and enjoyed some food and drink in the peaceful garden. This was also perfect for keeping warm whilst chilling under the stars at night. I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet and peaceful getaway. We left feeling really chilled and recharged and it is incredible value for money too! Thanks again John and Tina! We will be back!

Rolls Royce of shepherds huts with hospitality to match

Pococksgate Farm, what a delight! First time for us, staying in a shepherds hut, our expectations were high and I am pleased to say all our expectations were surpassed. The location is idyllic, the privacy afforded to us was superb and the shepherds hut, with all the finishing touches applied by our hosts, made for a fantastic stay and one, which we really didn't want to leave. John and Tina were always available for advice, be it for a butchers, pub or the best routes into the local towns and villages. We can't wait to return, thank you John and Tina.

Beautiful Shepherd's Hut

The Shepherd's Hut was beautiful and tastefully decorated. It was super cosy and the log burner made it really romantic. We went on a cold miserable day and didn't get to explore or use the outside, however it didn't matter as the hut had everything we needed.

Lovely

Lovely hut, well maintained and very cosy. Would definitely return in the future.

Fantastic venue, excellent hosts

Lovely stay, hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The hut was stocked with unexpected and lovely touches such as flowers, teas, coffees and soap. The hut had great views and the location was serene and pretty.

Perfect cosy stay for New Year’s Eve

We had an amazing stay for 1 night at this beautiful, cosy place for New Year's Eve and everything was absolutely perfect. John and Tina kindly provided us with information on the local area and pubs/restaurants which was very helpful. There were board games and free tea, coffee and biscuits provided too, which was great for the morning. The bed was cosy and very comfortable and you could see the stars out of the bedroom window at night, which was lovely. Waking up to the view of the countryside and fields in the morning was really nice too. We will definitely be coming back again in the summer to relax in the sunshine and explore a bit more. Gabriel’s rest - highly recommend

We cannot rate this highly enough. Host was there to meet us, location was stunning (even in the wind and rain). The hut is well maintained, fully equipped and the perfect place to unwind. We will be booking our next stay soon.

Lovely shepherd's hut in lovely location

Hosts were great, kept us informed when the hut was ready. Didn't get to meet them as I think we picked the wettest weekend to visit, so we didn't venture out of the hut! It didn't matter though, as the hut was so well equipped, we enjoyed some games and watched some films by the fire. The cleanliness was superb and had everything you needed. So many lovely little touches from the fresh milk, tea, coffee and filter coffee, to toiletries and hairdryer. It really had everything you would need. Towels and bedding were lovely and fresh. We have stayed in a few shepherd's huts, and this has been one of the best one we've been to. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again thank you so much!.

Love the pace and quiet

Wow, what can I say but thank you to John and Tina. What a delight for a 3 night stay, very comfortable and slept soundly. Wished i could've stayed longer. Clean, tidy and very private, easy to find. Will recommend to friends and family.

Shepherd’s hut

We had a brilliant stay. Would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a night or few nights away (great that they offer one night stays). The Shepherd’s hut was beautiful, cosy and in a great location. The hosts were lovely and gave us a lift back to the station in the morning. Will definitely be booking again. Was 10/10.

Perfect bijou Retreat

I booked Gabriel's Rest for a single-night getaway on my partner's birthday. The farm itself was easy to find being accessed directly from the A267 just south of Tunbridge Wells, the shepherd's hut is then clearly signposted through the farm. Despite being a working cattle farm, the hut is located at the edge so it's still very private and there is the illusion of complete seclusion.The garden area is lovely and the hut itself is smartly decorated and spotlessly clean. The fixtures and fittings are all high-quality, making for a luxurious stay. The shower is larger than the online pics show and the manner of the layout makes fantastic use of the limited space. Underfloor heating supplements the lovely wood burner (which was prepped for a fire upon our arrival meaning online one match was required to get it roaring). I would not hesitate to recommend this space and we will be back. My girlfriend was not disappointed.

Hideaway

If you're looking for a quiet getaway from your everyday busy lifestyle, this is a MUST go to! Away from the normal noisy life and just a place to regather and refocus. A great place to press pause and just reboot. I'd def go again in the summer!

Perfect stay

We had a lovely stay at this cosy, clean and comfortable Shepherd's hut. It is beautifully kept, and care has been taken to the finest detail to ensure a comfortable stay. The garden area is immaculate and it was nice to be able to sit by the fire pit and hear the cows. I was worried we would be cold during the night, but the log burner kept the Shepherd's hut warm all night long, and it was a nice touch to have underfloor heating as well. Compared to other Shepherd's huts we considered booking, this one was perfect as we were surrounded by a field so it feels very private. I 100% recommend booking this, and we can't wait to return again!

Blissful

We have just returned home from a 2 night break at Gabriel’s Rest, and haven’t stopped telling people how amazing our stay was. The shepherds hut has absolutely everything you need, and the fixtures and fittings are luxurious and of a very high standard. The location is so peaceful and the views are stunning. We enjoyed walks around the area and lots of nice meals in local pubs. We are already looking into dates when we can return. John and Tina are so welcoming. They leave you to it, but you know they’re there if you need them for anything. We had such a lovely rest and cannot wait to return. Thank you - Becky & Dan

Absolute bliss

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely book to stay again. Everything has been so well thought out, along with lots of extra little touches.

Perfect!

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago now and it was a lovely experience. Beautiful, clean hut, stunning surroundings, peaceful and comfy bed! The hosts were also pleasantly welcoming. The only suggestion I'd make is making the entrance sign bigger 😊

Great location

Great location and lovely Shepherd's hut. Brilliant quiet break!

Beautiful hut with amazing views

We stayed for two nights in this beautiful shepherd's hut. The host's attention to detail made our stay absolutely perfect. From fresh coffee, milk and biscuits to well stocked wood for the fire pit, and coals for the bbq. The garden area was so well thought out, we spent our day on the lounger chairs and then our evening by the fire pit. I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, beautiful and cosy place to stay, I didn't want to leave. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, they went above and beyond to create the perfect environment for a lovely getaway, we will definitely be coming back.
