Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

The campsite was lovely. Being at the end of the season, we found ourselves with only a handful of other campers. The pitches are well spread out and not crowded. The shower wash and toilet facilities were better than expected. There is also an option to rent a charging locker for phones and battery banks. The price per bag of wood is reasonable. Definitely would camp here again. There is a strong current in the river so no swimming, but kayaking and paddle boarding is a must in the summers. You can go all the way to Ross on Wye, hop off and at a pub at the bottom of the town. Great walks nearby. I have nothing but positive feedback.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

Toilets and showers clean and nearby, toilets allocated to pitch so no need to share with others. Lovely field and nice wild feel to it. Would definitely recommend!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We had a lovely camping trip at Tipi Adventures. We enjoyed hiring a fire pit for the night. The pitches were large enough to have a large tent and room left to spare, they also provide benches, which was a lovely touch so we didn't use our camping chairs much! The spaces between pitches were great, we could not hear our camping neighbours at all, but we could see them so we felt secure but also had privacy. The allocated toilets and showers were a nice touch and were relatively clean. We made some good memories at Tipi Adventures. The only downfalls for us was having to pay per person, and the roads to the location. One in our group could no longer make the trip so we lost out on £25, it would have been nicer to pay per pitch. The location was difficult for us to find. Our satnav originally had taken us to the other side of the large grounds, which ended up being somebody's home! When we did eventually arrive to the right side, our satnav cut out and there was no signage until the turn in of Tipi Adventure, so we were driving down a small country road hoping to be in the right place. More signage up the road (if allowed) would be helpful. The roads within Tipi Adventures are not small car friendly, lots of pot holes, big ditches and hilly terrain. This isn't necessarily a fault of the venue, but something we thought would be important to mention for future visitors. We will definitely return to Tipi Adventures in the future, but in a bigger car!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We had a lovely stay here over the bank holiday weekend (2 nights). Fantastic site for camping. We didn't stay in a tipi due to them taking a break, but a wonderful place to camp. Toilets are allocated to specific pitches which I thought was a great idea. Showers are lovely and warm and very clean. Really peaceful and spacious.

Fabulous site

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

What a fantastic site. The pitches are so spread out in a wonderful, grassy site full of oak trees. I felt in a bit of wilderness, it's all about a stress free life for me. As for the tranquil river and pebble beach, so stunning. The trees attract birds and I saw 4 Egrets. I will return 💚

Amazing stay and beautiful location

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

For us, the positives were that it was away from the road, the toilets were kept clean and were allocated to our pitch which I think, for the majority, was adhered to. Shower was warm and there was a picnic table on the pitch. The negatives were that no cars allowed on the field and no trolleys are available on arrival or departure, so it made transferring things very hard. Feel each pitch should be allocated their own trolley. There was no warm water tap for washing up. Same sink for washing hands as washing up, so awkward when coming out of the toilet when families were washing up. A stag do in the same field didn't enhance the tranquil setting! Didn't see the campsite owners all weekend. On arriving back on Saturday night, there were no car spaces left so we had to block someone else in. Overall, we will not be going back to this site. Think it is more for a large parties and hen/stag weekends.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Your stay with us was over the May bank holiday weekend and so, like most places, we were particularly busy, which may be why the trollies were all in use upon your arrival and the car park was busy. This is unusual and we find guests are very good at returning trollies ASAP (there are tags on the trollies reminding guests to do so, and we specify this in our welcome text and on the signs at the campsite too). Apologies for not personally meeting you - I was at the campsite everyday either dropping firewood to guests, helping the cleaner (who is also very approachable if you have any questions) and you may have spotted me wandering around with a baby on my hip! We like to leave guests in peace as much as possible but are always available if needed, and we were in contact with yourself via text message and email. We do not allow vehicles on the field for various reasons - mainly safety, but also to prevent the field being churned up in wet weather, to reduce noise (we have had previous instances where guests have used their car radio at high volume) and to keep the site looking beautiful with just tents and views of the countryside in sight! There are two sinks onsite and we do accept groups, but have rules in place such as a noise curfew. Our pitches are also very spaced out with long grass in between and we allocate the toilets to pitches, offering privacy and setting us apart from other campsites where you're all camping next to each other. Sorry we did not live up to expectations but we hope you still managed to enjoy your stay amongst the buttercups and beside the beautiful River Wye!

Lovely campsite, but near a major road

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst holidaying in The Forest Of Dean. It is a lovely campsite, beautifully and thoughtfully done. The meadow is gorgeous, with ancient oaks and the river running through. All the pitches had generous space around and picnic benches. The facilities are good and clean, it was lovely having a loo allocated just for us, and a warm shower. The only reason I would not give the location 5 stars is because it is very close to the A40, situated to the side and below the road. This means that even late at night there is road traffic noise quite close. For some this won't bother them and they will sleep well, however we're from a very quiet area and the road noise prevented us from sleeping on the first night and we bought ear plugs. Overall a lovely site and lovely stay

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

Beautiful campsite. Peaceful and idyllic. River runs right alongside, in which you can hire canoes. The pitch was a generous size and well kept, a bench is provided for each pitch, which is so handy. Trolleys to take your belongings from the car to the pitch is such a thoughtful (and easier) addition. Spacious site, where each group can enjoy their time there and not be bothered by other campers. The facilities were just what you needed and were kept clean. The owner was very attentive and made sure we had everything we need, she trollied 2 bags of logs over to our pitch in the rain! Our group of friends + 1 dog had a lovely holiday. Overall, wonderful campsite and will definitely be returning.

Such a well maintained site with excellent showers and toilet blocks. Personal pitch areas is a lovely touch and, from booking to leaving, Sarah was a great host. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutJun 2022

A cosy, comfortable shepherd's hut in its own generous space, with a fire pit and wood provided for outdoor cooking. Dog friendly, unlike so many glamping options, in a spacious field by the river. All the amenities provided in the hut were thoughtfully anticipated for the guests needs, right down to the woolly blanket and cotton bedding - the massive pull out bed was so comfy. Although the site was busy, with some large male groups, it was never noisy because the camps were so well spaced, and as a lone female camper I felt safe at all times. Access to the camp is not particularly easy, down a long rough track, so is best for people who want to enjoy the camping experience rather than go out and about in the evening. There were really no negatives, just a couple of niggles. A little fridge in the hut instead of a cool box would have been wonderful. And although there is a separate clearly marked loo and shower for the hut, these were used by other campers, who often left the loo dirty - maybe either key access or moving their location?
