VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Campervan PitchesMay 2024

We are so happy we came across this campsite online, it's brilliant! Easy to book, great facilities and real value for money! Check in was easy and our pitch was large and flat and overlooked the adventure lake. The site felt safe and there were plenty of places for the kids to run around and play football/frisbee etc. The washrooms, showers etc were clean and well maintained and the staff were so kind, calm and helpful.

Lovely spot close to the local amenities culture in the surrounding areas

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Campervan PitchesMar 2024

The site was well presented for the time of year. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The pitch was on a slight incline on grass, which was rather sodden after all the rain. This made it difficult to park so the staff laid plastic flooring down for us to drive on. We enjoyed our stay as first timers & look forward to visiting again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

We had a lovely visit! The location was great, very spacious, well-maintained and very clean. There was lots of space to move around and it was great that we could choose our own pitch. Lots of space to be able to walk the dog. The one comment we would like to make, is that there was no seating inside the shower cubicle to be able to use when getting dressed/undressed. My partner has some disabilities and found it really hard to shower for this reason. We should have asked if there were any disabled facilities. We would definitely come back though, slightly better equipped next time as this was our first camping trip in our new tent.

Guiet and great facilities

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

Large electric pitch in a great location. Clean shower block & toilets, plus washing facilities. You can book the adventure park too which our 'neighbours' did. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Good, but basic and overpriced

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

Short review: Spacious, clean, basic. Medium review: Our pitch was flat, well drained and spacious with a quiet countryside outlook. The toilet block was clean and functional and the site staff were helpful when asked. Would not book again because there are lots more places to stay in the area and it was pricey for what is a fairly basic campsite. Long review: Some things I would call basic campsite facilities are laundry, a freezer for freezing cool box elements and Wi-Fi available at least somewhere on site. To be fair, these are not listed on the website but for £30 a day for two people, I would expect these things. As for bike hire, beach, water sports and pub, yes, the town of Bideford is a 5 minute drive and we spent most of our time at the beach resort of Westward Ho! which is a great, family friendly beach resort. The site is part of the Inspired Adventure Outdoor Activity centre which caters for groups of people to do various challenging things like high ropes and whatnot. The activities you can book are set into pairs and you need to book in advance as times are limited. We did the high ropes and assault course challenge which was actually a lot of fun and I can't fault the instructors for making it a highlight of our trip. This part I would recommend, if you like a physical challenge! In hindsight, I would have only booked the site for about 3 days for some surfing and the adventure course, then moved on to the south of Devon for more attractions on the south coast. Actually I wouldn't have booked, as there was plenty of room, but my son likes to know exactly where he's going. But hey, that's hindsight. I don't regret staying here, it's a good campsite, just a bit oversold perhaps. (One more thing; leaky doors syndrome-one night a group of young lads arrived about 9ish with loud music etc until about midnight. Headed off before 8am so I'm guessing they hadn't paid to get in? Also we heard them head off daring each other to 'have a go at climbing it' - as far as we know they never fell off the top of the high ropes but you know, maybe security is a bit lax?

Lovely place

Small Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2023

Lovely location, well situated and with enough space. Facilities were always clean, and staff members were friendly and supportive of anything we needed. The site is very well situated. Just outside Bideford and 30/40 min driving from a lot of attractions.

Lovely campsite - with more to do if you want

Campsite was clean, facilities good, and walking distance to a really good pub - the perfect getaway. The lake and adventure park area looked amazing, we will definitely be going back.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Campervan PitchesApr 2023

Grassed areas with power. It was a little muddy when we arrived but the sun came out shortly after. There is no hard-standing so be warned that if it's been raining, there will be mud. The toilets/showers etc are lovely and very clean. We couldn't figure out where to put our rubbish so left it in the washing area bin. It was a bit hard to find as we were expecting a sign saying 'Adventure Camping' but in fact the only sign is 'Inspired Learning' and it's at the end of a fairly long driveway. It is a 10 minute walk to The Thatched Inn, a fairly large pub that does food, so that's quite handy. We ordered a taxi into Bideford from here which was £8 and got a taxi back to the site itself. We were a bit surprised by the site as I didn't realise it was such a large Adventure Park. There are lots of activities for children and adults (paddle boarding, high rope walking etc), we thought on arriving it would be noisy but it wasn't and was more peaceful than we imagined. I expect in school holidays that might be different.
