About Tarka Trail Camping
The Tarka Trail is inspired by Henry Williamson's famous novel 'Tarka The Otter' and this site is the ideal spot to explore the wonderful countryside along the famed trail. You're in the perfect place to relax and unwind, so set up camp in your tent and enjoy the coastal views and wildlife on seven acres of lush greenery. Well behaved dogs welcome. A handy bus stops close by for those looking to leave the car behind and BBQs are also permitted. This base is a short walk from the golden sands of Instow Beach and close to the surfing beaches of Westward Ho!, Woolacombe and Saunton.
Tarka Trail Camping is open from 23/03 to 29/09.

The location invites many activities such as walking, cycling and birdwatching.
The RSPB Reserve of Isley Marsh is a stone's throw away for the enthusiastic birdwatchers among you. Take a stroll down to the historic Fremington Quay or enjoy a tasty meal at one of the restaurants in Instow and soak up the view.
Instow is in walking distance and boasts the North Devon Cricket Club with its thatched roof and views towards Appledore. The village also has a sailing club and a small ferry that crosses the River Torridge to Appledore (weather permitting).
Visit Barnstaple with its iconic 'Butchers Row' and Pannier Market or the maritime port of Bideford, Britain's third largest port in the 16th century.
There are also many beaches within easy reach as well as glorious Exmoor - you're spoilt for choice!
Hop aboard the Oldenburg at Bideford and sail to Lundy Island for the day (Puffin Island) and take in the wildlife and dramatic views in the Bristol Channel.
