Sprinter-Type Campervan - Touring All Weather XL Grass Pitches with ElectricSep 2024

Had a bit of a poor start as we arrived too early. The only downside to this site is not being allowed on until 3pm, but we could have paid an extra £5 and got on at 1pm? Apart from that, it is a lovely clean and friendly site and only a short distance to Bakewell, which is a lovely little town and a cycle route (Monsal trail). You can hire bikes to do this.

VW-Type Campervan - Touring Hardstanding Pitches with ElectricAug 2024

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The site is located in a great position, five minute walk from the village. Had a great meal in the Crispin Arms. The farm shop was stocked with meats, eggs and cakes - an added bonus we thought! I had seen a review regarding the communal showers/toilets but we thought this was a good idea for families and they were private so did not cause any problems. The facilities were immaculate. Cannot wait to return and spend longer.

The farm is right in the centre of the Peak District and its many walking, cycling, mountain biking and fell running trails. Bakewell is a short drive or an hour's walk away (along the Monsal Trail) and has many shops and cafes. Chatsworth House is a 15 minute drive from the farm, and features on one of the mountain bike trails which start from the farm gate.

You are also welcome to interact with the farm's livestock, including sheep (sometimes lambs, sometimes bottle fed - and yes you can have a go), Highland cows (don't worry, they are in a different field!), a few pigs, some horses and two attention-seeking farm cats!
