Glamping Cabin - Wood CabinAug 2024

The wood cabin is exactly as described, it is an accommodation unit. Unless it is just two people, there is no room for anything else but sleeping. The communal kitchen was large, clean and had plenty of equipment for cooking should the weather turn bad, as it did for us. The toilets and showers were kept nice and clean and had plenty of hot water, just what you need after a day in the wet. Polperro is less than a mile away but its not an easy walk, especially on the return trip. However, Polperro also has some really nice places to eat and there is lots of choice on menus. The car park there is highly over priced, coming in at £7 for 3 hours, much easier to use the local Taxi firm who will run you back for just £10 which means you can have a drink with your food. Overall, a nice stay, excluding the weather and when it was bright there was a wonderful view of the sea.

Overall, very happy campers

Bell Tent - Bell Tent Jul 2024

Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Had originally booked for myself, my partner and my daughter but ended up being just me and my partner. We will definitely book to come again with my daughter though as I'm sure she would love it as much as we did. The price is fairly reasonable. The location is absolutely beautiful. So peaceful and tucked away. If you like something remote and quiet, with nature and star gazing, then it's just perfect. The bell tent was lovely and spacious and comfortable, with it's own private outdoor area including firepit which was lovely. Cleanliness was mostly good - a couple of things in the tent could have been a bit cleaner but overall was fine. Facilities were good, the kitchen area is nice and well equipped. Showers and toilets were reasonably nice - again could have been slightly cleaner but that's largely down to other users not the site itself. Didn't detract from our overall experience.# Can highly recommend the breakfast wagon! We had absolutely gorgeous food this morning before we left - would visit again purely for the food. It really is a lovely site and we'd happily stay again.

Cute and cosy

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Hut Jul 2024

Stayed in the quaint and cute little shepherd's hut, it was very cosy and comfortable. The walk into Polperro was only 20 minutes, although walking back up the steep hill was a hard walk, it did burn off the pasties. The site had all the amenities you could need and they cook a banging fry up in the morning, which I highly recommend. Matt was easy to contact and always quick to respond and everyone I talked to who worked there was lovely. Perfect for a romantic little getaway, I highly recommend.

Beautiful campsite

Glamping Cabin - Wood CabinJun 2024

Well, what can one say, an absolute gem of a campsite. We stayed for four nights in the Barn Owl Yurt which Matt upgraded us to as it was empty and we really wanted a log burner to keep us toasty at night. Very spacious, with sweet little chests of drawers to put our clothes in. Our two grown up children also came a day later and there was still plenty of room, even with the double mattress pulled out. A great private space outside with a very comfortable hammock (we all managed 40 winks in it!) and a fire pit/BBQ with a large table and 4 chairs. Showers and kitchen delightful and plenty of room to make any kind of meal in the well equipped kitchen. Very peaceful with beautiful sunrises and moon shining over the sea. Matt, Penny and her husband (sorry, I've forgotten your name) were the perfect hosts and always happy to give advice and information. Thanks for a brilliant time, we'll be back X

Bell Tent - Bell Tent Aug 2023

Lovely little site off the beaten track, quiet, clean and friendly staff. Compost toilet outside accommodation and running toilets and communal kitchen as well as communal showers near the entrance.

Shepherd's Hut - The Star Gazer HutJul 2023

Great place to stay with the added bonus of the communal kitchen. We stayed in the star gazer and it was big enough for family of 4. We collected the chicken eggs in the mornings also, which was a nice little extra.

Rustic but everything you need!

Yurt - Barn Owl YurtJul 2023

We had a great stay at West Kellow Yurts. I will say that you should listen to their welcome email and avoid Kellow Hill unless you are used to driving up steep, windy lanes! That being said, the location is a bit remote (it has its plus sides as it's lovely and quiet) but you will be driving down country lanes no matter which way you go. The yurt was a good size. Sadly, the weather was not on our side, so it was a bit damp the entire time we were there, even with the fire going full blaze. There was a gap between the door and the frame and I don't think that helped. The rain was pelting away though, and there was no leaks, so that was comforting! The communal kitchen was awesome. It had everything you could need including pots, pans, cutlery and a fridge/ freezer (the freezer is hiding in the smaller kitchen!) The toilets were clean, but I think a separate toilet block would be helpful as the toilets and shower are together in the same room. As there are only 2, in the morning you may be waiting for your morning loo break! Also, there is no lighting at all in the yurt so bring along a camping lamp or you'll be trying to do everything by candle light. All in all, we would stay there again. Hopefully next time, the weather will be better and we can enjoy the sea view and the walk down to Polperro.

Fantastic place to relax

Yurt - Barn Owl YurtJul 2023

A perfect place to stay. Great location. Fantastic communal kitchen, for those rainy days when you can't cook your food in the fire pits...loved it.

Shepherd's Hut - The Star Gazer HutSep 2022

Kellow is a beautiful location just outside of Polperro (which in itself is a fantastic little fishing village), the different huts and yurts all have wonderful character. The Stargazer that we stayed in is cozy and remarkably well built- we weathered a proper windstorm with no leaks, draughts or adverse effects. The hut is advertised for up to four people, but I wouldn't recommend more that two adults and a child, as it's a tight fit. The bedding was super comfortable, and it's a short walk to the shared showers and cooking units. Showers were hot and clean, and having chicken coops onsite means fresh eggs! Definite recommendation for us, only issue we had were the indoor LED lighting was on the fritz and an outdoor chair broke due to age/exposure. Big thanks to Matt for being responsive and very friendly.

Bell Tent - Bell Tent Aug 2022

Very excellent facilities. Bed was comfy and tent was clean. We were provided a couple of bikes to get to the kitchen and shower block.
