Simply beautiful

Beautiful stay. Lovely warm people. Felt very safe. Pleasant, clean and well-thought out facilities. Apple orchard is beautiful, and felt so special to be sleeping among the apple trees. Already planning to return and would recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant location and setup

Fantastic stay. One of the best locations we've seen. Love how self-supporting the place is. Setting is beautiful and well-maintained, pitch size very generous, occasional sounds of farm animals, which we like, but could possibly be bothersome. We got the juice and a cider made from the farm; cider was fine, juice was excellent. Close enough to Cambridge that we could cycle out there with our gear. Very reasonably priced for what you get, and so better value than many similarly priced but less nice spots, but it's not quite as budget-friendly as some other pretty decent, small ones within an hour or so. Non-flush toilets might be an issue for some - but I found them always clean, never smelly, frequently maintained/emptied - in fact, much better than many sites' plumbed offerings. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Best of all: unlike most sites, we weren't bothered by raucous people, music, drinking well past kids bedtime. Definitely recommended, and will go again if we get the chance!

Great getaway

We enjoyed a great stay here in the yurt. It was comfortable and cosy and very spacious. The yurt was located in a nice orchard and there was sufficient space between campers for them not to get on your nerves. The yurt comes with a wood burner but it was so warm, we didn't need to use it to keep warm. It rained heavily on our last night but the yurt was still warm and waterproof. We enjoyed the remoteness and wildness of the location. The service was great and the host very responsive and friendly. The site was close enough to both Cambridge and Ely to visit them by short car journey. We would highly recommend.

A perfect wild campsite close to Cambridge

A fantastic, secluded spot in a serene countryside orchard, only 20 minutes or so from Cambridge. We enjoyed a night under the stars and around the fire with their own homemade cider.

Perfect night's stay

Perfect night's stay for us to visit Cambridge for the day. Really relaxing campsite, with clean facilities and good eco values. Would definitely stay again.

Super site

Super little site. Has everything you need. Clean showers, kitchen area with kettles, two sinks for washing up, very helpful and informative host. We had a lovely weekend. Beware the apples! They fall in August.

Little gem

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Orchard at Fen End Farm with our children. There is plenty to explore locally, we cycled into Cambridge and visited the Farm Museum. The kitchen shed is great for making toast and cups of tea, charging devices and for having a chat with other campers. The 2 washrooms are so homely and no smell from the compost loo. Also, the facilities are spotless!

The centre of our universe once a year...

For the last few years we’ve stopped at Fen End Farm for the weekend. The site is fantastic. The Orchard is quite something else. Beautiful, calm, secluded, but with great amenities. Perfect for gatherings of friends and family, as we do. My wife and I have 3 young kids and work busy, hectic jobs in the City, and we never fail to come home from Fen End Farm - relaxed, calm, grounded, centred and grateful.

Beautiful orchard in spring

We stayed at The Orchard at Fen End Farm with a group of friends and family for a Bank Holiday weekend, and we had a wonderful time. The facilities are very well thought out, with modern showers alongside compost toilets, and a well equipped kitchen area. Everything is kept clean, and everything seems to have been thought of (e.g. eco-friendly firelighters for the log burner in the yurt we stayed in). The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful too. Cannot find any fault with it.

Stunning apple orchard eco campsite

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the bell tents amongst the apple trees in blossom…what a beautiful and unique setting! Vicky was the most generous host and the facilities were beyond our expectations with the full kitchen, 2 modern showers all powered by wind and solar and the composting toilets were great! A magical weekend with family and friends… we'll be back!!

Magical escape in the blossom clouded apple orchard

We had a wonderful experience at Fen End Farm with family and friends. No timetable and lots of time to just spend with each other and remember all that good stuff we all live for. Facilities are great, the orchard is just wonderful and the demands of every day life seemed a million miles away. The kids seemed glum at the idea of camping before the weekend but as soon as we left, they wanted to know when we will go back. Parenting win!!

Fantastic campsite

What a beautiful setting for a fantastic weekend. Set in the middle of a beautiful apple orchard, this campsite is like something out of a fairy tale. It wasn't only the setting, but the accommodation was amazing. We slept like babies in our double bed with our own log burner to keep us toasty and warm in the spring evening chill. Our son slept comfortably on the roll out bed and there was plenty of room for all three of us. A beautiful outdoor area with fire pit meant that we made plenty of memories sitting around the campfire. The campsite and farm are eco conscious and they have low carbon footprint which is an added bonus. There are lovely touches from the hosts, Vicky and Amy, such as beautiful homemade apple juice and burgers to buy which all came from the farm. The whole site is powered by solar electricity and all of the buildings have lovely signs explaining how they were built and fitted using sustainable resources or recycled/ upcycled furniture. The shared kitchen lodge was so homely and well stocked with all the crockery, cutlery, stoves and electricity to cook, charge phones and hang out. The showers were so powerful and beautifully decorated and they were so clean. The composting toilets are so clean and no smell. They were cleaned regularly throughout the day. There are walks around the fields and woods. We had an amazing time and have already booked for next year. I don't really want to leave a review as I want to keep this campsite an amazing little secret but it is so good I have to share!! Victoria and Graham Miller

Wonderful hosts, wonderful setting

Loved it! We had a wonderful trip. We are not experienced campers but it was so easy to make it work for our family. The kitchen and bathroom facilities have all you need for a hassle free weekend. The orchard setting is magical and the hosts are wonderful. The accommodation is so comfortable and everything is eco friendly. We hired the entire site with 6 families staying. All had a wonderful time.
