About Fountain Violet Farm

Located near the village of Kingswear in the South Devon countryside, Fountain Violet Farm is a 130-acre cattle farm run by Edward Jones. This serene retreat offers off-grid glamping in cosy canvas lodges, each accommodating up to six guests with a double bed, bunk beds, a cosy cupboard bed, a fully furnished kitchen, and ensuite facilities. The farm overlooks the River Dart and is just a 15-minute walk from the stunning Mill Bay Cove, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or relaxing on the sand. The South West Coast Path is also nearby, offering scenic coastal walks. With no electricity, guests can unwind by candlelight and reconnect with nature in a tranquil, family-friendly setting. Dogs are welcome, and the site is ideal for families seeking an unplugged escape. The tents may be off-grid with no electricity - but you'll have plenty of wood, candles, tea lights and more to provide you with light and heat.

Facilities and amenities

All glamping units have private toilet and shower facilities. You'll find an honesty shop on-site with all basic needs, including milk and bread. There's also a pizza oven to use.

Arrival is between 4pm and 6pm. If you expect to arrive later than this, please do inform the farmer as there is no on-site reception. Check out is 10:30am unless a late checkout has been pre-booked and agreed.

Yes! Dogs are allowed. They must be kept on the lead at all times and not left unattended.

The wood-fired stove inside of the accommodation will keep it warm and cosy. It is important to regularly add some wood. During the night, the site would recommend bringing warm pyjamas and perhaps some extra blankets and a hot water bottle.

Yes. You can fit a travel cot in the accommodation. You can also hire one from the site for a fee. Due to limited space, only one cot per lodge is allowed.
