Little Trethvas is perfectly located for exploring all of the Lizard Peninsula's attractions - stunning sandy beaches, coastal walks, scenic drives and some of Cornwall's prettiest little villages. For kiddies, there's a chicken and guinea pig hugging event in the school holidays and a climbing tree for supervised active kids. There's even WiFi, but it's a well kept secret from teens, so that screen free hols are on the cards.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

We were made to feel very welcome and able to choose our own pitch. The camping field was very well maintained, and the pitches were generously sized and fairly level which was a bonus. Lots of chickens and turkeys were free range - mostly in the "no dogs" area by the amenities block but they grazed freely on the camping field as well, which was quite amusing! However, we found that the main road nearby caused a lot of noise, until late at night. Also, be aware that military helicopters also conduct training sorties directly overhead - we didn't have a good night's sleep as a result. The showers could probably use some updating, they seem a bit tired, and the water wasn't draining away as quickly as it should. I had not realised before our visit that the hairdryer needed to be fed 50p coins - I don't tend to carry cash anymore, so had to go to bed with wet hair, which wasn't ideal. Have to say though, that the site is very conveniently located for the Lizard (3 mins by car) and Kynance Cove (6 mins) and we had fish and chips from 'smugglers fish and chips' in the village, which was delicious and excellent value for money.

Friendly, welcoming campsite

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

Friendly, welcoming campsite. Well located, but there is a little road noise, which didn't bother us. I would happily stay again.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2024

Lots of space because of the field in the middle. Friendly, convenient for the Lizard and surrounding area. Adequate amenities close by. I like the poultry running free in the campsite. Suitable for anyone not looking for onsite entertainment (apart form the chickens and turkeys of course).

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Loved it! We stayed two nights and first time camping, of course we couldn't put our tent up properly so had to call on the support of Mike, who was an absolutely diamond. Quiet pitch, facilities were fine, loved how the turkeys and chickens were free to roam around, and Poppy, the owners dog who would visit us a few times across the day. Definitely recommend. Great location for Kynance Cove, only a 35 minute drive to Falmouth, which we loved. We would be back.

Perfect little campsite

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

We stayed at Little Trethvas for 4 nights. It is a beautiful campsite with individual pitches and was in the perfect location to cove hunt around The Lizard. It is nice and quiet and the facilities were great. There were free roaming poultry and the dog enjoyed the stay aswell. We will 100% be returning!

Wonderful little gem!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2022

We stayed here for 2 nights as we toured Cornwall in a motorhome. Check in was a breeze and owner Liz is such a lovely lady and happy to help and to give advice. There were plenty of facilities which were all kept clean and although there may not be parks and pools like other sites have, we actually saw this as a plus point. Our son enjoyed playing in the natural surroundings and meeting the chickens, turkeys and guinea pigs. At night, the stars shone brighter than we have ever seen and you could pick out each of the constellations, it really was breath-taking and so peaceful. We walked the first day to Cadgewith Bay (with our 6 year old) and ate at a fantastic place called The Old Cellars, the open sandwiches were absolutely delicious! The bay was beautiful and well worth a visit. The next day, we started early and walked to Lizard. Highly recommend walking as it's such an adventure rambling through blackberry and maize fields, over styles, to eventually reach the village. Such a quaint place with quirky shops and fabulous food. Make sure you get a pasty and cider from Ann's (best we've had!) and an ice cream from R. Triggs, it's other worldly! We then headed to the most Southernly point and as we were about to start the coastal walk, we saw a café high up overlooking the coast called Wavecrest. We stopped for a caffeine top up (hot choc for little one) and sat at the front overlooking the sea. Certainly a brew with view! We then started the coastal walk where I pretty much filled my cameras memory. It was, as the 6year old describes it, "so super awesome!" What a wonderful experience and as if the walk itself isn't fantastic enough, it then brings you to Kynance Cove. We've visited some amazing places in Cornwall but this was my favourite. The sea, the sand, the rocks for the kids to climb. It was just perfect in every way! If we had been staying longer, we would definitely go back just to see Kynance Cove at sunset. I don't know how it can get even more beautiful than it already is, but apparently it does. Again, there's a fab café up some steps overlooking the Cove. Fab food and very reasonably priced. We are so happy with our stay at Little Trethvas, it's the perfect place to explore the area and we will definitely be going back. Our Cornwall adventures have only just begun and we miss being there already!

Lovely stay

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2022

It's lovely. Nothing bad to say. There used to be a café here, but it is now a holiday let, so equip with your own food and drinks before you go. If you have a car to drive, the nearest supermarket is at Lizard Point Camp. Plenty of nice walks which take, on foot, 38 minutes to get to the beaches from the site. E-bike would be best, but really enjoyed our stay.
