About Chapel House Farm Campsite
Situated just five minutes from the England and Wales border, along with the Brecon Beacons National Park, the site is in an ideal location for days out exploring. Surrounded by wildflowers and ancient woodland, this is the perfect spot for wildlife spotting and unwinding in the outdoors. The site offers three different camping areas, each with non electric grass pitches for tents and campervans. Each pitch allows up to six guests with access to a fire pit, great for evenings cooking up a BBQ or toasting marshmallows. The Wood Field area has two pitches available, each a small semi-circle mown into the long grass. This field is vehicle free and the furthest from the facilities, though there are wheelbarrows to help transport your things and it is wonderful for peace and quiet. There is also the Church Field area which provides two extra large pitches and two regular pitches. Each pitch is mown into tall meadow grass, enjoying beautiful views over to the Black Mountains. The main camping pitches lie in the Flat Field, each surrounded by wildflower grass with a mown play area in the centre, great for kids! If glamping is more your style, Peter's Wagon is a traditional wagon situated by a pond in the orchard area. The wagon was built by artist blacksmith, Peter Walker, who lived in it while studying blacksmithing in Herefordshire. The wagon comes with an outdoor seating area, along with a fire pit, perfect for nights in the open. Inside is a double bed, a cosy living area, a kitchenette with cast iron hobs, crockery, table and chairs and a wood burner for those cooler nights. You will also have the luxury of your own solar power phone charging and lights. Please note, bed linen and towels are not provided. Guests staying in Peter's Wagon will have use of the campsite shared facility block which is a short walk away. If you're looking for a true escape, the cosy camping pod for four is hidden amongst the trees, sitting high over the orchard. Inside the insulated pod you will find deep-filled mattresses, along with electric heating and power sockets. Double doors open out onto a balcony with glorious views over to the Black Hill. A lower seating area provides you with an ideal spot for al fresco dining, equipped with a picnic table, log bench and a fire pit with a grill. Please note, bed linen, crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment are not provided for the pod. Located on a working farm, there are slow-growing cattle, sheep and pigs in the surrounding fields with the produce available from the onsite farm shop. Due to the resident animals, the site is pet free so dogs are not allowed, sorry. The site is also certified with the Greener Camping Club so at least one guest per pitch must be a member, though this can be purchased when you book.
Camping stays are available between 22nd March and 27th October. The wagon and pod are available all year round.
