About Dapplewood

The perfect haven for those looking to recharge their batteries, this site is around 15 minutes from Ringwood and 25 minutes from Poole's coastline. Experience the tranquil and picturesque setting, kept to a very high standard. You can try a break at a slower pace with just five well spaced pitches, each set on hardstanding and serviced with electric. Pitches are level and each includes access to a large grassed area too.

Dapplewood is open all year round in 2024 and from 01/01 to 31/10 in 2025.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

This is a small, tidy, and very peaceful campsite with only 6 pitches. A real wildlife treat, if you love birds and squirrels as I do. There is a small wood, for walking your 4 legged friends. Yes it's basic site but it doesn't pretend otherwise.. Also, Bridgette, the owner was very personable and welcoming.

Site's response

Thank you Natasha for your lovely review. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the woodland and and had the peaceful stay you had hoped for.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

Great peaceful site, would definitely use again if back in the area. It has no shower or toilet facilities but that suits us. Pitches not quite level so ensure you have levelling chocks with you.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2024

Dapplewood is a hidden gem. On arrival we were met by the owner Bridgette who was most welcoming. The site is ideal for a quiet getaway and is dog friendly. There is a small wood area for the dogs to stretch their legs and is so cool on very hot days. We loved the site so much we stayed an extra day. This was our first visit but it most definitely won't be our last 😎

FAQ

Check-in is from noon here, and you must vacate your touring pitch by 11:30am on day of departure.

Up to three dogs are welcome per pitch, and they must be kept on a lead whilst on the site and well-supervised. Dogs can walk off-lead in the two acre woodland nearby and there is also a dog wash onsite.

You're welcome to bring a BBQ, provided it is kept raised off the ground (blocks are available to borrow from the site) or you can use the Kadai firebowl onsite - open campfires are not permitted.

Take a trip to Dorset's famed Studland Bay and spend the day by the Jurassic Coast, perhaps even wandering the seven mile stretch at Sandbanks. Alternatively, treat the kids with a visit to New Forest Water Park featuring an aqua park, plus a range of watersports including kayaking, wakeboarding and more. Make time to admire the incredible collection of vehicles at the Beaulieu Motor Museum, including the World of Top Gear. And if you want to kick back, find a picnic spot at Exbury Gardens whilst exploring the 200 acre woodland.

Awnings, gazebos and pup tents are welcome free of charge.

Walks and beaches on the Jurassic Coast are some of Britain's best. For example, all seven miles of Sandbanks' gorgeous shores are fantastic and nearby is famous Studland Bay.

Thanks to the New Forest Water Park there's a breathtaking range of water sports to try nearby. How about getting your adrenaline pumping with wakeboarding, skimming through the water on a rubber tube or something even better?

Out of the water, the New Forest still has more than enough to enchant and fascinate. Beaulieu Motor Museum is sure to get your wheels in a spin, while Exbury Gardens is the perfect place to stop and smell the flowers.

Other options include:

  • Kingston Lacey
  • Buckler's Hard
  • Hurst Castle
  • Lyndhurst
