Do as much or as little as you like! The Secret Camp Out is all about getting away from the hustle bustle of everyday life. The Wylye Valley is the perfect place to be that little bit closer to nature and here you can choose your own camping spot on arrival, then just relax for the whole weekend in the Cranborne Chase AONB. If you are a looking to be a bit more active, it's a fabulous starting point for walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers.

About the site


This pop up campsite is in stunning Stockton Park, inside one of Wiltshire's lovely AONBs. The UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge is within easy reach, along with the beautiful cities of Salisbury and historic Bath. The Secret Camp Out experience is an enticing and fun way to get back to nature and forget the hectic pace of normal life. On arrival you can pick your own camping pitch, with tents, caravans and motorhomes all welcome. The site can also accept RVs, but please enquire in advance. Well behaved dogs are most welcome.

The pop up campsite is open throughout August.

On site camping facilities are simple and basic but do include running water, clean toilets and a couple of showers. There is a bar onsite which hosts live entertainment and where you can have a fine ale or glass of wine. There are also vintage food outlets so you don't even have to cook. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are welcome

Site closes at 4pm on the Sunday of the weekend.

Rules and regulations for all visitors:

Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead and under proper control. They must not be allowed to become a nuisance to other site users. All Dogs must be exercised off site. Any Mess must be cleaned up.

Fires are not allowed under any circumstances.

BBQ's which are raised off the ground are permitted provided they are not left un-attended. All BBQs must be extinguished after use.

Litter bags are provided on entry, please use them, thank you.

Noise - radios and generators/stereo systems must not present a nuisance to others and must be turned off at midnight.

Vehicle movement - is not allowed except for the following:

Cycles are permitted, but must be ridden responsibly

A total ban exists on vehicle movement between midnight and 0900 (except for emergency and official vehicles).


The site weekend offers a host of fun on-site, including croquet, face painting and hair braiding. There's also a clay modelling and arts and crafts corner for the kids. There will even be an organised treasure hunt for little ones.

The location is the perfect place for outdoor pursuits, so bring your walking boots or your mountain bike. There are some great trails nearby. Your setting is on a National Cycle Network route and its quiet country lanes offer a wonderful way to explore the area with plenty of places to stop off along the way.

On Saturday night the camp out will host a live band called The Remotes. The Remotes are arguably the UK's finest indie cover band. Dance the night away to a mixture of classics and modern indie greats including Oasis, Blur, Weller, The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Kooks and many more.
