Why you'll love it at Chalke Valley Camping

Luxury glamping site nestled in the West Wiltshire Downs Area Of Natural Beauty

Family friendly site with beautiful countryside views and an onsite fishing lake

Plenty to do nearby including hiking nearby Marleycombe Hill, 30 minutes from Salisbury

About the site

Sleep in top quality canvas bell tents or safari tents that are completely weatherproof and can comfortably sleep four people. It's perfect for groups of friends, families, or couples looking for some space! The accommodation provides mosquito-proof windows and on a sunny day just roll the sides up and feel the breeze from the downs on your skin. Settle down for a starry evening in your candle-lit tent with a glass of wine or beer, looking out to the beautiful scenery. Or if the fancy takes you, get seated around a blazing log fire to toast hotdogs and take in the panoramic views. Each tent has a comfy double bed and two single futons. Inside there are plenty of luxury touches, such as hot water bottles, some good reads, playing cards, and some morning essentials, like a French press. The site does not accept dogs due to nearby livestock, but there is parking adjacent to the site and each of the tents has a private campfire for evening cookouts. Due to the rural and idyllic nature of the site, there is no electricity, but that's no barrier, with gas supplied and solar electricity, plus the possibility of renting a generator for groups who are booking the entire site. The neighbouring village of Broad Chalke has a good pub, an excellent shop with local fare and a great cafe. There you also have the chance to buy fresh watercress and free range eggs at any time of day. There is a good selection of traditional pubs right down the valley and in the surrounding area. A beautiful walk over farmland and footpaths leads to the Horseshoe Inn, for some hearty meals and real ales.
