About Lake View Yurts
Amble across a small paddock to this family friendly glamping site, ideally located just outside of Mere in the countryside on the Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset border. The glamping yurt is fully insulated to keep you warm at night and is risen up on a wooden platform, providing spectacular views of the countryside and nearby lake. Inside you'll find a comfy double bed, sofa bed and the option for a blow up single bed for the fifth person. There's mains electric which hooks up to the fridge, kettle and toaster, with cooking utensils, coffee, tea and milk also kindly provided. There's also a handmade wood burning fire with a log basket to keep you toasty, as well as ample furniture such as a chest of drawers, chairs and quaint rugs to make you feel at home. Just five metres from the yurt you'll have your own eco compost loo, electric hot shower, inside and outside sinks and eco friendly soap and shampoo waiting for your sole use, housed in the lovingly restored garden shed! Outside you'll find a gas BBQ, picnic table and chimenea, the perfect place for a spot of al fresco dining at the end of a day exploring the surrounding area. You'll have the pleasure of meeting the onsite owners, their two dogs, small flocks of rare breed Castlemilk Moorit and Balwen sheep, including friendly lambs Chilli and Kiwi, plus a pet pig and alpaca! Home-reared lamb and pork for you to cook on the BBQ or to take home to enjoy after your stay is also available to purchase. Due to the abundance of farm animals, dogs are not allowed.
