Beautiful, peaceful, wild and wonderful, with all the little extras you could need

Our stay at the campsite was slightly marred by high winds and rain, during the August bank holiday weekend, but that didn't stop us coming away happy and looking forward to returning again as soon as we can. We stayed in a camping pitch, although had the chance to snoop around one of the geo pods too. Overall Susie and Joe are amazing hosts, their kids Monty and Ted also joining in playing with the kids and helping out around site too. Everything we needed was catered for, with a firepit on each pitch, and very impressive pizza night on our first night. An open green area offers space for the kids to play (we did bring our own outdoor games) and a covered "barn" hosts the small honestly shop and a fridge/ freezer for guest use. Eco toilets, shower facilities and a converted horse trailer for washing up all did the job perfectly. There are wheelbarrows to take your stuff to your pitch (no cars on the camping area made it so calm and chilled) and huge water containers to use to fill with drinking water also available. I managed to arrive with an empty gas bottle so Susie quickly got me sorted with a spare one and a compatible cooker so I could have a coffee! For this alone I will be forever grateful. We all look forward to returning as soon as we can be sure of slightly better weather!

Lovely gentle weekend after the pizza

Greeted by most campers having pizza and introducing themselves, though left to own devices thereafter. Camper pitch near play field, but not an issue as site so quiet. Well thought out facilities. I had thought my pitch was larger than it was, but had plenty of room for dog to roam and a fire pit to cook on. Good place to camp if you are environmentally conscious.

A relaxed, well equipped meadow camping experience

We recently stayed at this campsite after wanting a quiet wild/meadow camping experience in mid Wales without the "fending for ourselves" aspect. Allocated composting toilets, honesty shop, hot showers and your own private pitch with log seating and fire pit made this exactly what we were looking for. Everything was really clean and well presented. We just camped, but given how they kept the communal areas, I have no doubt the pods/bell tent are brilliant too. We were welcomed at the gate by the host who was very welcoming, relaxed and friendly. She quickly showed us around and gave us any information on the facilities, shop, etc, before letting us get settled in. It was also off a main 'A road' (no traffic noise given the hill top setting and plenty of trees to strip out the sound) so had easy access to local hiking spots as well as the nearest town for supply runs, and to our surprise we even had good phone coverage if that's something you worry about - not what you expect given you are on top of a mountain. We visited a lot of local landmarks but still have plenty that we wanted to visit but didn't get time to. We will happily go back again for round 2, it's perfect.

Probably my favourite campsite

Lovely place! Great spot by the Elan Valley. Easy to get to everywhere. Lovely hosts who couldn't be more helpful. Really nice spot there. 10/10 would go again! I've been camping a lot and this spot was by far one of the best!

Fantastic family campsite

Lovely campsite setup with everything needed for our young family, while still having a slightly wild camping feel. The owners can't do enough for you. Great firepits and with less than 10 pitches, the place was quiet and relaxing in a beautiful setting nestled in the foothills of mid Wales. Would definitely come back. Also love the efforts to be as eco as possible. If I were to be picky, I'd say some of the pitches could be made a bit flatter for tents, but they are all workable.
